  1. Hi all, I've just ordered one of these as a kit to give me something to do while I recover from an operation, was wondering if anyone here has ever built one,and if so are there any pitfalls /build quality issues to look out for?I'm looking at nitro power so I'm guessing a pusher prop will be necessaryπŸ‘,any advice gratefully received! Many thanks, Grant πŸ™‚
  2. Thats the best bit πŸ‘πŸ˜‚
  3. I run a couple of hpi trophy's amongst other nitros. Plenty of spares too. I've used a mate's Ftx roadcar and quality seems goodπŸ‘. I do sometimes think about going electric at times and I probably will buy one at some point, but I like tinkering and fixing the nitros, and I enjoy the whole experience of nitro, noise and smell etc.
  4. Yea it's definitely tight but that could also be the new piston etc. Plenty of good compression πŸ‘. Yea it's just getting used to not having a needle to tweak on the barrel to adjust. It's not yet fitted into a buggy yet but I'm anticipating it will be a good motor πŸ‘. Yea I always park up at BDC. I'll definitely leave that mid needle alone unless it behaves untoward! Thanks for your inputπŸ‘πŸ˜Š
  5. Thanks for your reply πŸ‘. I've set the mid range to flush although a couple of turns either way and it could still be classed as flush!I've bench run it again, absolutely fine. Still confused by lack of a Lsn but so far so goodπŸ‘
  6. Hi guys, recently picked up a T Tiger28pro. New piston and sleeve fittedπŸ‘. I need advice re needle settings please. The carb doesn't have an Lsn needle but it does have the so called midrange needle. I've put a couple of tanks through it on a bench test and runs well but any advice on final settings is appreciated. I've never had an engine with the midrange needle before and from what I understand they're to be left alone unless you know what's what!As I got the engine secondhand I don't know if this needle has been altered?!So,how do I adjust any lsn settings if poss or is it factory set and any advice on the midrange setting is appreciated,Thanks allπŸ‘,Grant
  7. Great advice thankyouπŸ‘. To be honest it's not like the kids and I race but it would be nice to get the best performance out of the car as possible, and any excuse to get the tools out and tinker around......πŸ‘πŸ€ͺhappy days!
  8. I'd like to know the answer to this too!Someone please answer! All the info I've found is contradictory relating to 1/10 and blacktop for some reason!πŸ₯΄
  9. Hi mate, this looks interesting!I've got an SH28 engine that has hardly any use from new,I've never cooked it or ragged it. It's got zero pinch now although the liner and piston appear to be mint. Can't return it due to the 'nature of the hobby' , disappointed as hardly used it!Anyway I'm going to try your method,as Nitroholic said there's nothing to lose really. Curious to know if you've had much use out of yours since you've fixed it?Good vid too mateπŸ‘, loving the tuneage in the background!
  10. That I don't know πŸ™„, I use oils in the diff itself and regular grease on the outside of the gear set if that helps. In terms of actual gearbox then maybe someone else could help on here or refer to an online manual?Hope it goes well and you get answer you need πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
  11. Hi mate, I've been using a combo of 3000 rear diff,7000 centre and 5000 front diff. I understand that this is a general base line combo and it's honestly enhanced the driveability on all my buggies. All the power is distributed evenly and the handling is much improved. We use ours for general multi surface bashing and it works for us. Others may suggest slightly different weights but that probably comes down to personal choices and years more experience but the above works for us!πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
  12. Absolutely! It's worth the aggro tho πŸ‘
  13. Just so frustrating at the cost of these parts πŸ™„
  14. Soz mate no, that's the parts I usually end up using!πŸ™„πŸ€£ Probably got enough parts to rebuild some decent blocks if I had more pistons and sleeves πŸ˜’
  15. Had same issue, very frustrating!Ended up buying secondhand and new engines as works out cheaper in long run. My spares box is getting bigger with the bits I don't need, for nowπŸ™„πŸ€£
  16. I get mine from Blacksmith Products on eBay, they're generic shells and they fit my trophies perfectly πŸ‘. Reasonable price too πŸ‘
  17. Sometimes spend more time fixing than driving though🀣
  18. Part of the fun for me is stripping down and rebuilding πŸ‘
  19. Nice one! Shows that bargains can be had!I'm going to have a go at locking the rear diff on my cyclone so it's more of a drift car. I'll keep you posted once I've done it πŸ‘. Enjoy your new purchase πŸ‘πŸ˜Š
  20. No worries,I've checked both and no joyπŸ˜’. I did get a replacement 2 speed from SRI a few months ago so worth checking in πŸ‘
  21. Try Simon at rcscrapyard, very knowledgeable and good at sourcing parts. Also SRI remote toys online. My Cyclone is great, kids love it, yours looks good, better than mine! Also the Condor 2speed fits so search both cars πŸ‘
  22. I've replaced my old and worn engines with SH21 and SH28 and Force 21 which I believe is SH rebranded, certainly has same block mouldings and internals. Yes they are cheap and not race spec but for my needs they're great. Tune easy and start easy. Look after them and they'll last πŸ‘
  23. Thanks for your reply πŸ‘. I've got some hi-temp silicone I use for engine sealing so I'll probably use a smidge of that πŸ‘ Reply and advice appreciated as always πŸ‘πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘Š
