Arrma Kraton / Outcast EXB 8S Owners Thread

Well after not liking the smaller 6s and giving up on Arrma this sweet deal came my way and I thought let’s give it one last go ! 

Out the box I have to say I’m super impressed unlike the smaller 6s which left me wanting more. This thing is a beastly suspension feels like it’s floating on air ! No nasty slop either super thick 6mm shock shafts and big old ends to hold them on. Super thick and beefy turnbuckles which at the end have some super big old wheels and tyres. Sway bars both front and rear are a nice extra over the rtr and a nice saving too as is the option of running different motors servos and Spurs all in the box 👍.

 Night and day difference to be honest, infact I’m rather impressed. If the 6s had of been like this I’d still have it.

True enough just wondering if they cant get the 1/8ths out door quick enough so quality is suffering 😞

OMG What a day have to say this is a BEAST ! 
 

 

 

Truck is OUTSTANDING !  some maybe upset but this one will be put in the X Maxx class of a non seller 😂

 

Now I only have 10 x 4s packs and I burned through 8 of them  without a hiccup, more than enough power for me wheelies, backflips and burnouts galore. Temps where perfect Motor hit 170f max and esc was 80f probably leave the gearing where it is but if I do need to go down for the summer I’ll swap out the spur and go 24/39 instead of the 30/47 I’m running now. 
 

Now if I have one gripe it would be the servo I choose but it’s fine for now but could really do with a bit more the a 40KG 

 

Cant wait to get these lipos charge and get back out again 👍

Glad youre having fun with this. Looks like we both upgraded. What ESC are you running? Is that a Max5?

Hi Bummer had it out at work showing off like a school boy and smacked it sideways against a concrete post 🤦🏻
 

Rear arm is done 😕

 

But had this reply from my man a logic 

 

Because parts have recently been air freighted from the manufacture the plastic hasn’t aged as much as would be expected. Once you get the new parts put them in a dish and pour boiling water over them and leave them to cool, do this 3 x times, then leave overnight in the water. This will age the plastic and make them absorb some moisture, make them stronger

Our supplier has sent out a replacement tyre and wheel. Please allow 1 – 3 working days for the delivery.

Absolutely loving this rig so far she’s been a real joy to use and never fails to bring a massive smile to my face 

 

Now I was out this weekend running 24/39 on the gearing but it was getting a tad warm and now the weather is on the up I can only see these temps rising. Now for me I think I’m at the perfect gearing so I could ad fans etc but I don’t think even then I’d get the temps down as low as I want . Time to invest in a different motor, popped over to Aliexpress and found the Lepoard 1050kv 58113 by all accounts it’s a beast of a motor sounds good to me added to basket bought and paid for 😂👍

Yep one was a 5698 the other is 58113 if it’s no better it won’t be an issue as I’ll be getting the exb outcast so one can go in that 👍

Ah, there will be more torque available, so should handle higher gearing.
