jjl5590 Posted March 21, 2021 Share Posted March 21, 2021 Hi all, Got a noob electronics question for ya'll... I bought an automatic drinking fountain for my cat, which I leave running 24/7. It uses a waterproof pump like this one: I was just wondering, it's a waterproof pump (IP68) but if water did somehow manage to penetrate it, is there a chance it could short-circuit the electric motor which could then feedback into the plug socket and cause a fire?
