House electronics question

Hi all,

Got a noob electronics question for ya'll...

I bought an automatic drinking fountain for my cat, which I leave running 24/7. It uses a waterproof pump like this one:

I was just wondering, it's a waterproof pump (IP68) but if water did somehow manage to penetrate it, is there a chance it could short-circuit the electric motor which could then feedback into the plug socket and cause a fire? I don't believe the plug has a fuse in it?

Apologies for my noobishness

It's a low voltage system, so it's no more of a risk than a mobile phone charger and if you are worried about any fires you can always use an inline rcd
