m-racing
Brexit. Offtopic? Not for me. The only things i use to buy from UK alot before was RC Products. I know this is not me only. Couple friends i have did also buy RC stuff from UK. Nothing else , just RC Stuff. Because UK got bigger stock, and more things than our Country in EU. uk had also 10-15% better Prices than our country before this Brexit / before taxes After Brexit we must pay tax now. 25% extra. This will make alot trouble. Example, If i like to buy one MAX 6 4985 combo from UK. i need pay like 40 euro extra in Taxes. This makes it like 10 euro more expensive than buy it from here. Before we did save like 10 euros buy it from UK. I did buy yearly from UK RC stuff for 5-7000 British Pounds. After this Brexit this is not possible anymore. I will only buy some smal things that dont exist here. And the total will me Max 500-700 british Pounds per year now. 10times less . I know im not the only one. This must Hurt UK RC Business alot. What will happen to you guys in UK RC Business soon? Alot people will buy alot less. You will loose alot money. Prices will go up for you ? Some RC stores may need close also. UK did sell alot to other EU countries before i know. This will almost end now. Are you worried? This must mean more expensive hobby to all UK,.ers soon i believe ? Less RC Stores, Less products maybe, And prices goes up for you soon ? ITS sad i think. 25% + on prices now is not okey anymore to us who live outside UK. Maybe you selves got prices go up soon because of this Brexit too? Sales must go down alot after this i think ? What will happen? My first orders this year Customs help me, they did understund that i did not know about this extra taxes after Brexit, They let 3 orders pass without taxes. Now they told me this is not happen anymore. Next time i MUST pay taxes if i buy from UK. This is sad. I can not order almost anything from UK after this. Not my friends either. 😞 Edited February 15, 2021 by m-racing
Tug
Yeah, we're noticing a lot of bad changes. Hopefully they'll get sorted eventually, but right now it's definitely more expensive.

Popular Post Alex97
Sadly the EU commission became power hunger and other countries are starting to see this. When it was originally setup it was for trade however has since grown into the monster it is today. Shame as the concept is good but the reality was far from it.

Jens
@m-racing Honestly, I am not a friend of Brexit. Just because I believe in unity and not separation. And I am German and still with strong connections back there. But I can't really follow your arguments. Before Brexit: You order from the UK, pay UK VAT and then receive the item in one of the other EU countries (Don't know where you live) After Brexit: You order from the UK excl. VAT, then the item arrives in the EU and you pay the VAT according to your country. ( Your online shop of choice should only charge you net, if not you need to claim back UK VAT ) Since VAT Rates didn't differ much in the EU countries the difference now should not be that large. Portugal 23%: you pay a bit more. Germany 19%: You pay a bit less. Unless your items exceed a certain value and is not "Made in UK". Unlikely for RC. Then the EU with charge again customs fees. After the UK did before. RC is rated as toys and that should be 2.5%. And honestly I yet have to come across RC parts that are cheaper here than in Germany or Finland (EuroRC). Unless it is something very specific. Before Brexit, I ordered most of my parts from Germany. Simply because they were cheaper. Now this has become very difficult in the UK. But even that is not due to Brexit, but simply because the government decided to change the custom regulations, which was not needed for Brexit. I am quite sad to see this these type of posts here in this forum. Even worse with the language used (disguised or not). We should spend our valuable time here discussing all our RC related problems and share our RC related experiences. Don't you think so too?

Customs want me pay extra now for every packet from UK. This never happen before. Now they told me UK is not more EU. this is why i need pay extra customs, vat/tax they say. I dont understund this self ., Is this true ? This is what they told me. I order self alot from GERMANY also, they are cheap. EURO-RC Finland i avoid, they are expensive. They have good cheap shipping rate only. Everything else is alot more in coast than others. EURO-RC finland is the most expensive shop . I have Email them twice already and ask why they are so expensive actually. This is still about RC Business 4 me atleast. Not offtopic, I accept anyways if MOD like to change this to offtopic. No matter. What matters now is TAXES,. Custom fees , UK , and to us who live outside UK. We are big buyers. What happens now ? 1 hour ago, Jens said:

Your EU bashing including the bad language and attacking people (EU officials) had nothing to do with RC. I would be really interested why you think that everything is now much more expensive for you. Recently I ordered a spare part for my stepmothers Mini. Ordered here and had it sent to Germany. List price: £432 incl. 20% VAT. Upon entering a foreign delivery address the VAT has been removed at checkout. I payed £360 + shipping. Upon arrival in Germany my stepmother had to pay a visit at the local customs office. There she paid the 19% German VAT: €78 (~ £68.4) In total she paid £428.40. Which is even £4 less than before Brexit. If you had a different experience, then I hope you can share it here and maybe it can get sorted. How about that? Can you tell, where you are now paying more than before?
monkeyboy_uk
One of the forum guidelines is not consistently enforced in my opinion: No swearing, or 'censored' swearing.
Nick
This has all become just a rambling rant rather than a discussion. We all have our opinions but this isn't a healthy discussion. And the people breaking the guidelines have been warned. Thank you.
