Then I might spend a few hours researching what's the beefiest mini servo around! Oh; I hadn't bent the steering link so need to do that as it's limiting the travel. Though tbf it also doesn’t do the job properly!! In part I believe this is due to the flex in the mounts... Will confirm this once I’ve re set it all up..... Have fun on the first test drive! In fairness i've no idea how much i'll use the DIG but it's there should I need! Saw that Reefs 99 @Andy-Roo and then someone else chimed in with this; http://www.hobbyclub.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1776 I believe Reef just rebadge this one? 10Kg @ 7.4v! Yes please!! Will check out fitment and where I can get either that, or something similar for a spare. Might try venting with the boots still on now... As to the dig, it’s learning how and when to use it. I was obsessed in getting it working in a 3 pos mode but in reality there are very very few instances that one may use it to freewheel the rear - almost never!... But the locked function can be used regularly to ; increase turning radius, stabilise the rear on a descent and hang from rear, and let the front bite better down on a climb or ledge.... If one ran very soft suspension, then you could use it to suck down the body also and this in turn puts tension between the front and rear wheels and this more bite - this is used lots with MOA rigs.... Popular Post DartmoorTrails Posted June 17, 2020 Author Popular Post Share Posted June 17, 2020 So I vented the tyres finally, took them all apart to do it with my leather punch, couldn't bring myself to try whilst still on the wheels! As soon as I got into the garden it started to rain, looks sunny and warm but them clouds are gathering so I may have to make do with the back garden for today. The tyres seem good but will need significant scrubbing in to get nicely up on the rocks; I reckon they'll be good in the mud which is fortunate for us in the UK! Bent the steering link and shaved the bump stops so getting a nice angle now. The Crawlmaster 16t is brilliant, really nice slow start up, don't think i'll need to look at swapping the 12t pinion out. I did buy a 11t but didnt pay attention and it's for a 5mm shaft!! Anyone need that!?!?! lol Think i'm done now except for fine tuning with OD front probably and perhaps some portal weights. Defo waiting till I get on a proper climb before deciding though. The Met Office, which I hasten to add are based 10 miles from me.strongly suggested thunder and lightnening and went so far as to give us an 'official' weather warning for yesterday afternoon and evening. By 6PM, with practically wall to wall shine from 4PM onwards I thought i'd take the risk and went cap in hand, on my knees, to the good lady and begged her to let me out! I guess her I owe her one😀 Hound Tor for your viewing pleasure: The car park is literally less than 400m away from the Tor, up a short hill, often decorated with cow pats.... The beginning So much green👍 In the background we've got Haytor on the horizon, if that's the centre of a clock, then at 4-5 we've got Holwell quarry which has a funky 'beehive hut' built in amongst the rocks: Old picture. Abandoned about 1840 (not the Hilux!), they reckon this was probably an explosives hut. Why it's termed a beehive hut is beyond me if it's actually munitions, but there we go! Onwards: (There's a few poser shots here as I was sat having a tin of Punk IPA on a very comfortable piece of granite enjoying the peace:)) Return loop; this was probably a good 45 minutes into the expedition and I only had a 1600Mah 3s in so I started to ponder when the alarm would kick in and scare the tourists!! They had horns! Naturally they wanted to accept the Capra into there flock! Lol Last lamb pic honest! Perhaps slightly edited but I think my favourite picture of the evening. Hit and miss with a Pixel 3 - it seems to want to take control of everything which is quite frustrating! Last one before I went tramping back down the hill to avoid certain doom from the ensuing biblical storm we were promised: Grrr @ Pixel 3 Didn't rain the whole evening. So, the Capra then. It's quite noisy Articulates like an acrobat (in a good way) Without any upgrades is extremely capable Boom Racing Hustler tyres... mmm. There were a few lines where I wouldn't have had any wheelspin on Pitbulls or Prolines but towards the end of the run they started to grip much better. I think they're keepers but are definitely needing proper scrubbing in and as mentioned previously did very well in mud so I reckon I might move them onto a trail rig if they don't vastly improve and take a look at some KLRs. Sleeps 14 Costs £7 a night per person (Or £98 for the whole barn, sole use) It's less than a mile from the Tor;) You'd seriously want more than a day though as once you saw Bone hill rocks (~2 miles away) you'd be salivating and of course Haytor and Haytor quarry. Not making excuses, but also remember that is with an 850mah pack so will also have less weighting to front....
