Easy way to measure 'current draw'

Hi all,

I would like to do a quick test ...to see how many amps my system is pulling.

...Things are getting quite hot ...So I just want to see if I'm pushing things too far.

....is there an easy way to do this?

I have a good Multi Meter :)

Thanks

Thje problem with using as multimeter is how to simulate actual running conditions. You can't really run the motor under load.

Of course....you could build yourself a rolling road and apply variable braking forces to simulate different surfaces, and then accelerate, brake and run at various speeds while you read off the multimeter reading. That's quite a lot of hassle really.

Paying £8 for something to plug in between motor and ESC is much simpler :)

It might also be worth checking your gearing with one of hte many gear calculators out there. As long as your gearing is in the safe range for motor and ESC, it should be OK. It is vewry hot right now, and that won't help. Just leave the car outside in the sun, and your motor will be topping 40c before you even run it.
