A nice little project WPL C14

I really enjoyed building the C24 kit, the body is really nice.  The 1060 might be a bit big!  I have a 1625 in my C14.  Hoping to post some pics of it fully upgraded shortly.  The C24 is currently just a roller, so is next for electronics.

  • 4 weeks later...

Mine is finally working well (touch wood).

What it took:

1625 ESC

GR3E receiver with case removed and connectors soldered direct to PCB to remove pins.  This makes RX very small.

1200 mah 2S lipo

HX900 servo

Motor upgrade - the one that uses a motor with a reduction box and a transfer case. Speed is good on 2S.  The two speed transmission hangs too low, I'll use it on the C24.

Metal drive shafts - came with the motor upgrade.

Adjustable links all round... the drive shafts are too long for stock links and bind.

Metal suspension mount / axle brace.  Required for the adjustable metal links.

M2.5 bolts / washers / locknuts x lots

Much fiddling.

Not required, but I did:

Metal axle housings

Metal axle internals.  Required for front metal housing and fitted in rear as diff. stripped.

Metal servo mount / front chassis

Steering link / tie rod

Softer tires from the kit version

Paint

Once I get mine sorted (got problems setting up Mission Planner on the flight controller) then I'll start upgrading transmission on mine.
