Hobao Hyper VS(e) Owners Thread

Recommended Posts

Thanks, modelsport looks the the best place to source the roller, I'm guessing ebay for many of the components like esc, motor etc.

Try a fly-sky GT5 with gyro for not much more, helps with stability.

Servo I use a Savox digital WP0231

Lipos 2- 2s Overlander 5300 sport track 55c

2-3s Nano-tech 5000 45c modified the battery tray.

Hobbywing Max8

Dusty motors cover but I modify the chassis so it wraps around.

I’d get a second hand Hyper 7 or another Hobao and do a brushless conversion if cost is a consideration. You can get a nitro hyper 7 for as little as £60, although you have to be lucky. Under £100 is definitely possible though. I’ve seen some second hand brushless Hobao going for a little over £100. That’s the way I’d personally go. If you’re wanting to get new that’s a whole different story.

ive been looking to do this but ive not seen any cheap ones, all seem to be 150 plus thats why i bought the vse roller

Hey guys.

I broke a plastic shock cap yesterday which is part number 40049 and it's out of stock until the end of may!

Does anybody know any other parts from other cars that will fit my hyper Vs shocks and the stand off on the shock tower?

This car is all that's getting me through lockdown on our walks!

Hi

It’s 90049 looks like stock is on back order. Is there anything left of it you can bodge together.

I had to run for a week with this

I'm looking at getting a vse but cant decide which to get, the 100 or 150 amp kit from modelsport or a roller and build it up myself with my limited knowledge. Cost is also a consideration, would a roller work out cheaper?

Hi Don I might have a hyper TQ sport original roller available if you fancy it?

That’s a manufacturing fault. Get onto whoever sold that and ask for a replacement.

Not sure I can help with LVC I run the HW Max8 set to Auto intermediate.

Battery’s I run 2-Overlander 2s 55c 5300 sporttrack I get about 20-25 mins.

2-2s 45c 5000 peak power again 20-25 mins

The overlander have a good edge on burst power over the peak power, 10c more makes a difference.

I’m thinking of going 5s as that’s a sweet spot good mix of power and controllability without the damage 6s can cause.
