John hutchenson
I have just put a 3660 2600kv motor 120 amp esc and a 2s 5000mah 60c Lipo in my losi 10mt and it will not pull off without it cogging. truck rolls smoothly when motor is not fitted. it has a 40 tooth spur and 15 tooth pinion. any ideas on what could be causing this. atom3624
It's normally an indication that the gearing is too long / tall. What was in it before? Al.
John hutchenson
stock pinion 16tooth 40tooth spur
atom3624
I meant the motor. Perhaps the previous was a lower KV rating? Al.
John hutchenson
previous motor was 3800kv
dazp1976
I'd say you need a 3s for that kv in a 1/10th. Might just be short of power to pull off in terms of overall wattage to motor, shouldn't be with a 60C. Could be totally wrong though. Only instance I've had with that scenario was from a slightly damaged motor after a crash. 1/8 buggies run 4s on 2600kv's and are not massively bigger in sizes than 1/10th themselves.
atom3624
That's what threw me with the 60C rating. Might be worth a try with 3S - more fun as well!! Al.
John hutchenson
I will give that a try tonight.
sunny
You may need the program card for the esc mate to set the punch and lipo cells etc, all non sensored motors will judder slightly but should not be too bad

Your motors trying to pull more current than your setup can supply when your first setting off no doubt amplified by the large radius Mt wheels/tyres your using, meaning your inertia is too high You could either teardown to a 13/14t or go up to a 3s battery as has been said
John hutchenson
I will try 13 and a 14 tooth pinion. if that fails I've got some 3s 5500mah 30c batteries.

Must be borderline on your amp pull for the battery then. Keep an eye on the temps of the battery I reckon. If you have a 3s I'd defo use it or this motor for the 2s: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEOPARD-RC-Model-V2-3663-3800KV-4-Poles-R-C-Hobby-Inrunner-Brushless-Motor-IM975/262702112880?epid=524387356&hash=item3d2a442070:g:cQEAAOSwU8hY7chS
