Basher sabertooth diff shimming

Tearing down my sabertooth diff's and noticed the front and rear diff have 3 outside shims on the side where the big gear is (next to the bearing) forgot it's proper name. I think this is causing the jamming because its too tight? I know on the bz888 they have 2 shims. Has anyone had any experience with these and if I say put 1 shim on each side would that smooth it out?

I've just serviced the diffs on my sabertooth, and I just left the diffs with the 3 shims. As they felt OK to me for play.

Strange my rear seems to bind up, front not as bad but still. I want buttery smooth lol Might just remove 1 of the shims.

there is shims inside the diff but I know its not the diff's because there fine when removed. I've found a video online and I'm going to try 1 shim on each side
