TMaxxDave
@XV Pilot The DF02 67t spur is 41.5mm. So 4.5mm bigger than the 88t 0.4 spur. I don't know how close the clearance is on the 88t spur. I think it's gonna be a case of get hold of one and see if it fits

XV Pilot
Well the body shape doesn't resemble that of a standard road car, so I don't think the colour should be one that you would typically find on a standard road car either. Maybe something very bright and luminescent with lots of sponsors stickers, or maybe a two-tone or possibly something with the pearl or flip effect? ChrisT
Lately I've been into my cockpit sets, rally, touring car etc and I'm wondering iff there is a driver head available? I don't mean the usual helmet head I mean a head with hair, that is just some dude on the way to the office in his Nismo. Having just bought a right hand drive cockpit set, with the intention to fit it to a Porsche I've had a change of plan and would like to fit it to the Nismo. Obviousley the stick on tints would be removed. Does a head exist?

Kpowell911
Hmm, Not too happy with the TBG Body. I never normally buy anything fake or reproduced, but I didnt really have a choice with this. I also thought there would be no issue with a reproduction body shell as they surely just mould around a genuine one. Ive cut it out but the back bumper is totally wrong. It just ends.... theres no line to cut and theres no underhang or recess for the exhaust? Edited August 20, 2018 by Guns
XV Pilot
That is quite common with reproduction bodies unfortunately. The smaller repro houses simply don't have the ability or finances to make the complex moulds that Tamiya and other similar high-end manufacturers can produce. Shapes are therefore often simplified so that they can be molded cheaper and more easily using a one piece mould rather than the multi-piece moulds typically used for the originals. It just ends.... theres no line to cut and theres no underhang or recess for the exhaust? Ah, yes that. It's a minor thing with these shells, I guess the mold wasn't made correct for reasons unknown or it was the fact that it could of been difficult to make and then release the shell? Really don't know why the detail was left out. The other thing your going to srumble across, iff you havn't already is the front grills. The TBG escort shell is based on the Escort WRC and not the Cosworth. The original Tiger Stripe, Michelin Pilot and Repsol shells were the cosworth with the same grills as below. The Escort WRC had a different grill which is what the TBG shell is based on. The decals supplied by MCI for all 4 models (michelin, tiger stripe, repsol, wrc) correspond with Tamiyas original releases, therefore your Repsol grill decalswon't mate up with your shell. These will have to be made unfortunatley. I made mine out of an Hpi carbon look decal sheet. Cut a paper template then transferred it onto the sheet, for both the Repsol and Michelin. Kpowell911
Chris, youre a legend mate, Ill get it the best I can, I appreciate its not going to be perfect, but was hoping it would be closer, its going to end up being the most expensive shell Ive ever bought, with three cans of paint and MCI decals. I guess its the best im gonna get for the time being. Ive messaged TBG i’ll see what they say. If I could determine the genuine value of a Repsol TA02 kit, Id buy the £700 one on eBay. IF I could determine that was the genuine value I dont mind paying it, But think its possibly overpriced.
ChrisT
Iff I was loaded I'd spend the £700 on a kit. I too can't determine the value of some kits, I swear it's all made up lol
Kpowell911
Just now, ChrisT said: Iff I was loaded I'd spend the £700 on a kit. I too can't determine the value of some kits, I swear it's all made up lol Honestly, the £700 isnt the issue, my other hobby is Marvel Comics, and my last purchase few weeks ago was well into the 5 figures. But I know where I stand with that. The market could well change, but I know where I stand with the market and know the value. I dare say if I ever Come to sell it Id make a profit, I got 5x my original investment on the last one I bought in 2008 when I sold it in 2012, only issue is if I had it now Id have made 10x my money. Its not about the money, same with the Cosworth, I just want it, but Im alot happier dropping £700 on a boxed model if its going to at leqst maintain its value. Tamiya investments, Ive no idea about. Whats this? http://www.radiocontrolledshop.co.uk/Tamiya-XBS-Escort-Cosworth-Rally-TT-01 is that a genuine Tamiya shell? All finished etc?
