Hearing good things about the stock 8S ESC and gearing up? Its meant to be a much better ESC than the first failure? Worth a try surely. I can monitor temps on my Telemetry radio and go from there. Traxxas do usually get the ESC right the second time round. The Original Emaxx 3906 had the VX12 which was a failure, replaced by the very good Novak EVX.. The later 4pole VXL system in the Slash/Rustler/Stampede/Bandit is a significant improvement over the 2 pole set up. Gonna keep it and gear up slowly.....

Its got a warranty so if it goes bang you make a claim so why not. :P

if does go bang claim on warranty then sell of the replacement.

Lol im not sure I trust Traxxas warranty haha. I had no intention of running the stock esc, hence why ive only put 1 pack through it since i bought it but we will se.

Its the retailer that your warranty is with. If you don't want the hassle sell it and get a Max5/6 ESC.

I spotted the 25C - not amazing, but when it's 10Ah, that's equivalent to a 50C 5Ah battery, so not that bad.

How long do you plan on running for?

I get ambitious and impatient, perhaps bored, and start taking a few 'chances' when I'm out a bit longer, so a high discharge, smaller capacity set-up is perfect for me - before I do something too expensive!!

Not too sure about 25c?

How much are they? Theyre the Swedish ones arent they?

Dont know how much they are as they aren't on their website although they are doing a deal with a new xmaxx

website Stockholm. reservdels.com

There going to be well over £100 if you go by the price off the 3s ones.

In view of the offer, if there's only £5-10 in it, then DEFINITELY get the Graphene ones.

I like the Nano-Techs as well, particularly A-Specs.

Hi Al I got the lipos and plan to solder the connectors. What run time did you get with your set up. I have 8400 3s but want to try the graphene for speed runs using 54/18 gear set up. You said the will fit the trays but a bit tight. Do I need to modify the tray?

Hi Patrick, there is a little room 'lengthways', but their height is JUST right - before I figured it out, I nearly damaged the balance lead outlets, now there's (just) no issue at all.

The side foam had to be removed from my battery tray - I built my 'X' up from parts - still have a load I don't need!!

Run time, no idea TBH. I've just recently received the body, and it's more a 'show' than 'bash' truck, but with loads of 'go' - I'm on 46t Spur / 30t pinion - 8S --> XL2 --> X524 910KV Toro 4-pole giant.

Run-time would obviously depend on terrain, charge, driving technique. I would guess at around 15-20 minutes' reasonably running. If 'going hard' I doubt you'd see 30 minutes.

Couple of photos to show the batteries.

Don't know what you can see, other than it being 'snug'. As I have alloy tie-downs / clamps, I thought I'd insulate between them - I'll work a more-permanent application somewhere down the line!

Thanks Al. I am sure it will be fine based on your photos. Run times will be on tarmac and low grass so should hit 15mins . I see the balance plug is unplugged which is fine for me as I have the Bluetooth link.

I had £57 offer rejected on the Floureons so might go with the Zippys now.

Thats woke her up a bit. Only ran briefly on the new gearing as Ive not reinforced the shell yet, but the CD is a lot more noticeable with higher gearing. I actually took my 6s V1 out on 6S, geared 19/50 with the Max 6 as well. The V1 is certainly more punchy/wheely happy (max6 or CD?). The V2 hammers it top end now though, and Ive still got work to do, just need to watch temps,

Added the Hot Racing Mount, the 22/46 gearing and Traxxas Washers:

Also tidied up and photo'd the V1 for the new Owner. IF he don't get the funds together Ill at least have it ready to list for sale. I think you'll agree its in decent condition.

Nice and tidy should have no problem selling it on, I'd be inclined to swap the esc over though and keep the max6 ..

I gave my mate the choice of both and I am getting more money with the Max 6 (enough extra to buy a new one once ive sold my VXL 8s). That said if he dont have it for whatever reason ill list it with the VXL8s and put the Max 6 in the 8S. That said i really dont like fact Id need to dremel to make it fit again. Looks soo factory.

Fact is ill more than likely end up with a Max 6 in the 8S. Be it my current one or a new one
