everclear1984
My Proline Dirt Works didn't last 5 runs on tarmac, I'd still say that's normal wear and tear. Edited February 6, 2016 by everclear1984
NG15
I imagine bjbear to be one of those who does "donuts" with his RC and keeps it pinned on full lock for vast amounts of time having little sympathy for mechanical parts, then has no idea on how to repair so put them in a cupboard and buys a new one lol. Correct me if I'm wrong please bear lol. On another note im so close to just buying the kershaw kit and leopard combo.....although it's going against everything I said about keeping it stock and giving it a good test. Yeah their tyres have only won several National championships, European championships and world championships so they must be bad.
bjbear123
I would like to get the 17 T pinion, They some ti be different sizes in radius even through they all the the same speed, what one would work : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANSCBE017-17t-Answer-RC-Mod-1-5mm-1-8th-E-Pinion-/161615199788?hash=item25a1043e2c:g:M1oAAOSwv0tU7gsy http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Novak-5mm-Mod-1-Steel-Pinion-Gear-17t-NE5111-/301750706659?hash=item4641be61e3:g:oLcAAOSwWnFWBZTR You see they are both Mod 1, 5MM shaft and also 17T so why is one bigger then the other and what one compatible for the X-MAXX
RCbutcher
I swear by proline tires. If you choose the right set and right compound they can last ages. M3 compound is 50/50 grip longevity yellow dots I think. Proline xtr compound is heavy duty less grip but lasts ages. The xmaxx tires should be a good medium of grip and life plus be on/off road as usual with ther tires. S compound is the super soft wear out fast sticky tire. Traxxas talons do last a long time for sure but are the most boring tires I've had lol. Altho look great on wet grass. It's like having 4 sprinkles attached. If it's a mod 1, 5mm bore pinny, it will fit the motor. Has your listed fleet of Traxxas cars taught you nowt about, well, owt? Popular Post mydoddy69
I just read the last few pages hmm have to say it's not a pleasant place this owners thread ! A bit of banter, leg pulling, teasing etc is fine but don't gang up on someone who clearly has a lack of knowledge that's not nice at all guys .. An owners thread is meant to be fun and helpful !

NG15
I wasn't taking the pee just wasn't sure if I was missing some info in the link somewhere as I didn't read them in depth. I'm getting my pinions from wheelspin models bear. Search mod 1 pinions on there site and the 5mm bore ones will fit. Nitroholic
The answer is 'YES' A pinion is defined by specific measurements. Mod relates to the pitch. Teeth count plus pitch gves a fixed diameter. Bore size just has to match your motors output shaft
bjbear123
Thats great thanks ! Im planning and getting the 11T and the 18 T I'm guessing the 11T will improve pulling power and 18 T will give more speed ? Im also going to get the dual fan setup from castle, I'm hoping this will be enough to keep the motor cool when running the 18T, you reckon this will be alright ? Deafty
Imho going 3 teeth up on the pinion requires some experience. You need to understand the extra strain you are placing on electrics, drivetrain etc,. and even bearings.

Okay, well i have the 18T coming as well as the dual castle fan for the motor... do you know what else i would need to eliminate this strain ?
