  1. Thanks... Im 18 and have been into RC for a few years which is why i have the 4 cars, I'm full time Uni and work. I simply don't have time to take the car apart into a million peaces to learn its internal workings. I enjoy bashing and thats about it. Once again I'm sorry for some of the silly questions but thank you to those of you who have provided great help
  2. Thank you guys, I really appreciate all the help
  3. Just being a new truck I'm now slightly anxious about causing it to over heat, especially that i was reaching 78 C with the stock gearing an extra T on the pinion will only make the motor even hotter and to be fair the X-Maxx is pretty fast stock. Rather then worrying about speed i am going to focus on getting my motor fans and front LED lights setup and putting some green slime on my shocks. Also i need to use some 3 In 1 oil on every single screw head so incase it does get wet then this will prevent rust... do you know any better alternative for this ?
  4. Okay.... well i have just cancel the pinion gear order.
  5. Does it cause problems under gearing the car for more torque?
  6. Thanks for all this useful advise, After around a 1 hour drive i did a temp reading with a temp gun on the motor and heatsink, i was getting around 170 F / 78 C... that was stock gearing 15/54. I have just purchased the castle fan set which some people are using to mount on top of the motor and i also just brought the 16 T pinion, this hopefully should give a small speed bump and considering I'm going to have 2 fans mounted on top of the motor then this should compensate for the heat problem ? I know you say that we don't know how powerful the stock setup is yet and if the gearing can be changed but why would have they added the easy gear mesh thing in the car which you move the pin to the correct gearing and then remount the motor, by Traxxas adding this surely they know people with experiment with optional pinions so it must be harmless ?

    Traxxas X-Maxx.

I get shock oil leak out of my shocks, Shall i rub this over the shaft ? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/associated-factory-green-slime/rc-car-products/17177
  8. I get shock oil leak out of my shocks slowly, shall i rub this over the shaft ? http://www.modelsport.co.uk/associated-factory-green-slime/rc-car-products/17177
  9. Is this the stock XMAXX shock oil : http://www.modelsport.co.uk/traxxas-silicone-shock-oil-30-wt-/rc-car-products/376168
  10. Okay, well i have the 18T coming as well as the dual castle fan for the motor... do you know what else i would need to eliminate this strain ?
  11. Thats great thanks ! Im planning and getting the 11T and the 18 T I'm guessing the 11T will improve pulling power and 18 T will give more speed ? Im also going to get the dual fan setup from castle, I'm hoping this will be enough to keep the motor cool when running the 18T, you reckon this will be alright ?
  12. I agree, thank you. Some just take the mick and never seem to help, Im asking a simple question which I'm sure you all know the answer too
  13. Yes i was, but they look different don't they..... anyway will any work ?
  14. I dont its just they look totally different... you think any will work ?
