Popular Post jjams82
Well it's not quite fully together yet but here's my latest.... My own variation on the tamiya safari rally 240z. Just need to solder up some apparently-brighter-than-the-rest LED's for the spotlights and mount them all properly. It's on an XV-01 chassis I've raised as far as practical without too much butchery. Chassis is a little too long for the shell and is sitting on much larger than stock tyres on 6mm offset BBS's for that "come get some if you think you're hard enough" safari rally look. As a result I had to butcher the arches quite a bit, but as Basil Fawlty once said, I think I got away with it. jjams82
Ta dudes. Only thing I think I might add is some mudflaps, probably bicycle inner tube or similar... Though I prefer the type that sit on the body rather than in the arch itself which might make it a little more of a fiddle to work out mounting. Like on the rear here:
Trackstar
This is my beloved old Stadium Blitzer. I grew up looking through the Tamiya catalogues always wanting one, saved up for what felt like forever to buy it. This one must be about 20 years old now... A good few years ago I gave it a bit of an overhaul, a load of new parts from my fairly vast spares collection, a shiny new body (basher body is an original body, box art decals but unpainted), made myself an aluminium motor mount and some titanium turnbuckles. I fitted a set of 3Racing dampers (for DF03) and some Proline wellies. Hopefully have some new electrics in it soon and start getting it muddy again!
jjams82
Very cool. I remember them from when I was a kid, I had a blitzer beetle at the time... Do you know if they're based on the same chassis?
Trackstar
I think so, I've always been under the impression that the Blitzer Beetle, Stadium Blitzer and Stadium thunder were the same chassis... Noj
They are the same chassis
jjams82
Ahh cool, that makes sense. It looked a little familiar but I sold the blitzer beetle years ago and can't remember it well.

TMaxxDave
Finished TB-01. The Citroen is my runner if i can bring myself to run it. The chassis is in perfect condition. I do however need to raise the ride hieght. The chassis sits a little to low for my liking Sent from my Galaxy S5 Neo
XV Pilot
Here is my idea of what a Grasshopper III would look like if Tamiya had chosen to release one: It is a DT-01 Mad Bull fitted with Star Dish wheels and Super Gripper tyres, painted traditional Grasshopper white and decalled with a mix of Mad Bull, Twin Detonator and Neo Scorcher decals to give my idea of a contemporary take on the Grasshopper theme. XV Pilot
It is a lot of fun - great for guilt free bashing as it is cheap, tough and capable. Edited February 13, 2018 by XV Pilot

Trackstar
Finished rebuilding my ebay TA04 for the Iconic Cup. During a pretty standard strip down/ rebuild I fitted a new part of the rear gearbox, due to a crack in the rear belt idler bracket, sorted out the rear body posts, full set of bearings, aluminium hexes, new servo mounts, 3Racing dampers, and dropped my electrics into it (Tekin Redline 13.5 motor, Hobbywing Xtremestock ESC, Spektrum SR3500 receiver, Associated XP1015 servo). Finally rewired everything to keep it nice & tidy. Before (as it arrived): And after: Edited March 29, 2016 by Trackstar
