another thread? and another non descriptive title? what actually gets hot? the whole car? how hot does it get? what's the ambient temperature?

Unfortunately i don't have any friends who run on 2s, most run on steak and beer.

Few things to check. ...

Any binding issues?

Pinion/Spur mesh too tight?

Seized Bearing?

Gearing?

What is getting hot?

Motor, ESC or Battery?

Also, what type of battery is it?

Is it stock electric?

Sorry for the questions buy it will give us more if an idea of what's wrong!

Cheers

ok simple

battery should be warm ish, NOT HOT but warm in your hand like a little puppy dog.

esc has lots of switches inside and they make heat so the esc is always placed somewhere cool

where some air can blow over it.

Motor, this should be cool to just holdable heat. if it is burning hot so hot its like your burning ants with a magnifier

your gearing is the main fault, and this will cause the motor to heat up but also the esc and the battery to start to heat up.

move two teeth down on the pinion , and DO NOT run your cars in long grass.

When we pros say run on short grass we mean that. not the playing field but the fairway on a golf course, thats how short the grass needs to be

super fine cut. your play field is not superfine its a tangled mess. infact rc makers state grass and what they mean is astro turf thats used in rc racing

if its 80c outside and your granny is even sunbathing and your pet dog looks at you like your stupid when you shout walkies it means your batterys esc and motor are going to be alot warmer than they would have been if it was minus 3

and frosty the snowman has a fourteen rack of snowballs waiting.

sounds like You and your friend are young chaps, so you need to think a little bit more on where to run your machines. a good tip is using google maps and looking at where you live.

find your house then start wandering around in overhead view, you can see little paths -land patches - fields and dirt tracks .

but you must remember your a guest on the lands so if asked to move on do it, be nice and polite , most of the time people are cool and calm if your nice and polite.

local farms, give them a telephone call ask if you can drive your rc cars along the tracks to the fields, remember this is the farmers income to so no crazy ideas about digging holes and making jumps.

you have to look for natures own jumps and divots you can race upto and use for airborne fun.

Dirt tracks are the number one fun place, playing fields tend to be test spots, old run down land is hard to find but there are some places.

so yeah armed with some google maps searches and a couple hours out on your bikes/car you can find those little havens of natures best spots

As with motors always gear down first, two teeth should be enough , if you gear up you risk getting to hot to quick. but going down a couple teeth you should see a good drop in temps on both esc and the motor
