Get a 1/8th scale brushless buggy, much less hassle than their nitro brothers and will blow them away in terms of performance! You just need to read up on how to look after lipos and off you go. There are a couple rtr's that could fit the bill........The Hong Nor Sabre e for example at

Budget won't stretch to a decent charger and sufficient lipos though....

I know but brushless is just better imo and the budget is not that far away! i would try to find an extra

I am not going to say brushless is better.  But I will say (like previous posts) brushless will let you run your model.

With nitro I got complaint about my model (noise mainly) but with brushless people just want to watch and enjoy.

Remember this is your 1st RC so 4wd will have higher maintenance and generally cost a little more to keep running.

The forum choice of the firestorm flux will fit your needs unless you really are in love with 1:8 scale?

I'm not new to rc but have recently got a HPI Firestorm Flux as I wanted something easy to transport and a bit more sociable than a nitro and for something to run other than my Losi 5ive T which is my race rig. The little Firstorm (little compared to the 5ive anyway) has really impressed me it's very durable and isn't lacking in power and I've only ran it on 2s so far and can't wait to find out what its like on a 3s lipo. It's certainly a fun RC.

i have one and they are brilliant very tough out of the box very good on 2s and stupid fast on 3s, the only extras you need are a wheely bar

Wheelie bar is included with the FSF. Mine has taken a beating at the bmx track and just keeps going. As said, fast on 3s. Edited by DannyP

lol, i guess thats the thing, but i cant decide electric or nitro

I'd go brushless for ur 1st rc as u will get more use/enjoyment out of it.....then if u fancy a nitro go for it. .. they really can b a pita big time if u don't know/understand what ur doing.. .

Are any of these good?

out of all them i'd go with the Sabre x 3
