I fancied a crack at this drifting malarky over the winter off season, my 6yr old loves it and has a Tamiya TT01 so I had to get my own! Racing all year takes up a lot of time and this means I can give more time to the kids Its an MST- 01 D S which I went and brought from Soul RC in Northampton, proper helfpul guys sorted me out a treat. Got the chassis kit and 2 sets of the indoor tyres for their track so me and the lad can go and have some play time on a proper track and not just destroy them in a local car park:) Full build pics are here on my website.http://teamkirk.co.uk/winter-project-110-rc-drift-car/ Chassis: MST-01D S Body: MST S15 D1 Servo: Savox 1257 Motor: Trackstar 8.5t (been told this is too much for drifting) ESC: Tekin RS PRO 2s LiPo Spektrum radio kit GT Power LED light Kit. A couple of questions though. Where do I get a nice quality exhaust pipe with the vertical plate on so that it tapes to the inside of the rear bumper. heavyleftthumb Posted October 2, 2014 Share Posted October 2, 2014 loving that pal. you cant go wrong with the MST kits. there are a few options for zorsts, there the hpi kit but it is a tad shiny but the best ive seen are the pipes ones, a quick search on facebook will show you there work. I don't think I did too bad for my first go, I went again Wednesday and improved a bit after fiddling with the esc setup and changing the pinion. justingt5 Posted October 20, 2014 Author Share Posted October 20, 2014 A little update, last week one of the guys at sole advised I change the rear camber and it made a noticeable improvement right away, just need more practice to get a bugger drift angle and learn/setup the car so I can hold it. Meanwhile in the man shed I got busy with some body mods! Exhaust, front splitter and canards [emoji106] I also made a temporary duck tail spoiler whilst I decide what style to go for and I cut out the front wing vents and bent them in a touch for a scale look [emoji106] Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also got cool scale Jap style number plates to go on. just got back from soul rc, awesome night and made more progress tonight with the setup, new anti clockwise layout took some getting used after only ever driving clockwise lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's a nice place but no sign so it's a little hidden first time ya go down. yeah I really struggled with it running the other way, missing next wednesday as the wife is working so running the short course truck at SRCMCC on the Tuesday night instead, Ive not raced for over a month since I got the MS-01D, Got a bit hooked and side tracked the racing. No worries. Think this week I'm going weds to try and meet some of the lads from Ireland then maybe next week. Most likely just do the competition weekend at the end of the month. Not been for a while as I've been moving house to northampton to be closer to work and my regular rc venues.
