fatboyneil
that's funny I've got two brand new savage gearboxes sat in front of me and both have a light coat of clear grease inside them
monkhouse
Maybe they started adding grease then I dunno..
Nitroholic
My normal Savage gearbox runs dry. Flux gearbox has grease. The HPI manual certainly as far as the X does not say to use any grease, just indicates what screws to threadlock I wouldn't want grease clogging up the 2 speed centrifugal clutch. Tug
I know my Traxxas boxes run dry, grease can cause as many problems as it solves.
fatboyneil
Well here's my new savage x gearbox and it's stripped straight out of a new car On looking deeper there's a thick red grease in the gearbox I will check the flux one now and get back to you but this is weird Edited February 9, 2014 by fatboyneil
fatboyneil
And the plot thickens it appears the flux gearbox is dry now as nitroholic said I would have thought these were opposite the flux greased but the 2 speed x gearbox dry but its opposite from factory
