Hpi blitz thread

Recommended Posts

  • 2 weeks later...

I have the ESE front arms as the RPM have to have the RPM bulkhead part, I have the HPI aluminium bulkhead. ESE are a big upgrade over stock,

As are RPM, as I use those on the rear,

I changed my shock oil to 35 front, 25 rear with the proline pro-spec shocks with medium pistons, I was flying round the track keeping up with the faster guys and also lead the pack for a while in one of the finals.

Now I just need to be more consistent and less small mistakes, I even got a fastest lap of the final in :)

What upgrades do others run as my outdrives are wearing pretty quickly

Same.I just replaced mine after 3 weeks of only bashing on the weekend! They are quite expensive too.

As far as I can see the only upgrades are MIP ball diffs which come with steel alloy diff outputs.

I like my geared diff though. Aren't ball diffs more for racing?

Yes they are and they are not as tough as a gear diff. More maintenance involved too.Shame there isn't a gear diff version or just simply better outdrives!

I'll probably just buy more stock ones and heat treat them myself.

I tried that. You need to be careful with heat treating because hpi say they are heat treated already so it might make them crack
