tonight, i'll look at fitting the small 1 of the 2 switches in the picture.

as you can see the missile launch type is just huge!!!!! though it looks awesome and the locking/switching action feels class, it just is too big and too stiff for the plastic housing even if we have space for it.

so.... small 1 it is for me!

quite a difference in size between those 2 switches lol

Definitely post lots of pics - I'm set on getting one of these and sorting out the on/off switch straight away

1st.... wheel casing apart

you can see a block of white tack, i used it to make sure there was enough space once in position.

IMG_20120702_202106.jpg

i had marked up an area roughly then drilled 3 holes (2mm dia) only to locate the switch to allow a more accurate marking on the plastic component.

IMG_20120702_203306.jpg

then, with the dremel, i roughly removed the inside of the marked area.

IMG_20120702_203600.jpg

then with a craft knife, i enlarged the opening and started giving it corners! i carried on cutting until the switch fit in the opening.

then..... crucial time for me to commit and cut the wires!!!! :shockingscary:

IMG_20120702_210406.jpg

time to solder.... at least solder 1 wire in the middle prong.

ET VOILA!!!!!!

next, i will need to find a couple of miniature screws to secure the switch. for now, it is a tight fit and it is working fine!!! :hahadance:

lol... i dont even know why i didnt think of having the switch within the enclosure! your way is a bit easier to fit... less fiddly!

The main thing i was bothered about was that the switch did not interfere with anything inside.

if i was to do it again, i would probably fit it your way but at the location where i put mine.

did u use M2 or M1.5 screws and nuts?

  • 2 weeks later...

Right straight to the point yes they have fixed the expo on the new handsets I couldn't tell on analogue servos but on the digital I could feel it never mind see it so with all the other fixes and the included lipo and the size and weight difference it's going to give some of the big boys something to worry about if you have a gt3b sell it now and get this you won't regret it

Fatboy

errmmm...not had any re-wring / change of power switches on my GT3B...... :whistling: :whistling:
