Just for future info....which of the following brushless combos are the better buy for the 10T?

https://www.modelsport.co.uk/hobbywing-ezrun-combo-max10-3652sl-4000kv-brushless-motor/rc-car-products/420923

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-trackstar-waterproof-1-10-brushless-power-system-4000kv-80a.html

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GoolRC-S3660-3800KV-Brushless-Motor-80A-Brushless-ESC-and-Program-Card-Z5A0-/182711280987?hash=item2a8a70e55b:g:O50AAOSwtPhZjDiu

From what I can work out from reading the motor thread, a 4000KV motor is the sweet spot for 2S Lipos. But the spec for the HobbyWing combo appears to suggest for 2s Lipo - 6000KV, 3S Lipo - 4000KV.

I'm probably not going to upgrade just yet, but just want an idea of what is the best combo to go for. Possibly all three will do as I think they have all been recommended on here already.

Cheers.

Let me know if you decide you don't want to keep that motor, it's the same as I'm using and it never hurts to have a spare ;)

I recommend the hobbywing combo. Same motor I have, I just have the slightly more powerful ESC (max10 SCT) as I was running a bigger motor in another model before the E-Firestorm.

That hobbywing combo will last a long time :)

Gents what greases, fluids and lubricants do you recommend for s stock E-firestorm?

And at the risk of someone buying this before me, would you recommend buying this....

I've already ordered spare arms to fix my son's car. But wondered if this set up provided better value and included parts I would probably need in future.

Cheers.

GT85 for general cleaning

Lithium grease for the gearbox

Light weight bike chain oil for bearings if they start feeling rough.

Mine gets minimal maintenance tbh, I tend to just brush it off when I get home, dry with a towel then give it a light coat of GT85. Old toothbrushes are great for getting into tight areas :)

Was a bit of a pain to fit the body despite HPI saying it would. Had to raise the body mounts as high as possible, but got there in the end. Both pleased with the result.

An old post I know but this is the only one I can find that has this shell. Do you or anyone else know whether this one was prepainted? The Modelsports one is not painted and suggests stickers for the grills, lights etc. This grill looks more 3D.

Not sure if this has already been discussed but looking at the current E-Firestorm ebay listings, there's definitely money being made buying complete RTRs, breaking them down and selling the spares. Could probably make over £100 profit per unit including transmitter. That's obviously a very rough guess.

You will always be left with bits left over, the tx/rx is single model only so not hugely popular unless someone of limited knowledge is looking for a direct replacement for their broken one. Brushed combo is cheap. Hpi has good parts availability anyway. Arms/towers/chassis/wheels/complete gearbox will normally sell, if servo goes people normally replace with a better one. I've broken up a few and mostly just sell parts to help people out. Don't forget to take into account paypal/ebay/postage fees.

I'm not saying the likes of you gents would buy these at this price, but I reckon someone will.

Probably but that's from a shop though in retail packaging if you are removing from a vehicle people won't pay retail prices.

The first line says "home sprayed" so I'm guessing they did it themselves

Well I finally managed to get hold of HPI. They confirmed the waterproof receiver boxes are being removed at production. So I told them it was only fair that they send me one. They have agreed.

I mentioned the unwanted antenna hole in the body shell too but It appears to have fallen on deaf ears. Oh well, if you don't ask you don't get.?
