Excellent, please put up a build thread! I'm with 53HRA!

I'm waiting until xmas to open mine. I almost had tears in my eyes building up my Hornet a couple of xmas's ago because of the nostalgic memories the smell of the rubber tyres brought back!!

Enjoy, I'm sure you'll love every second.

You are not alone :), I totally agree with what you say fella and what a purchase to start it off.

From what I have read up the re release bruiser and mountain rider drive much better than the originals.

Oh right, excellent. I'm using stick transmitter but it's a 7ch with a 3 position switch that I plan to change gears with. Does the DX4s have a 3 position aux switch, or will you need to use two seperate switches for the transmission?

Cheers

Yes nito, the dx4s has a 3 position switch so should be silky smooth bob on gear changes every time :)

I started the build today haha, chassis rails are done, axles are done, the diffs are weird lol, 6 gears inside the diff housing.

Ive taken my time, just to make sure everything is just right, tamiya manuals are great, im loving the build so far, making me feel all christmasy :)

Nito's thread and now this had me looking at the 3 speeds again, missus has informed me that Santa has been notified lol.

Tamiya Mountain Rider has arrived :), can't open till Christmas my nieces advise.

I have just purchased the slipper kit for it, excited is an understatement.

Awesome RJJ, another build thread coming too then?!!

I do like the look of the mountaineer and its a limited edition. Did that come from Stella?

I have my airbrush kit and paint all ready, today adhesion promoter and 1k lacquer arrived. (Would love to 2k the shell but it seems pretty lethal stuff in a domestic setting.) Just need to rig up a makeshift spray booth in the conservatory, I'm thinking the Bruisers outer cardboard box gaffa taped up, computer fans, an RC 7.2v power pack and switch and some ducting out the window, before the missus will let me spray. Any tips welcome!

Why the slipper kit out of curiosity, I read on some forums somewhere that it slips too early even with it tightened up!

I keep looking at the massive outer cardboard box of the bruiser, but won't open until xmas. It's going to be a quiet few days from boxing day on I hope.

The 959 was always revered way back. I'm hoping they re re that and the Big Wig!

Cheers guys, always fancied one.

It came from gold star stockists today, the missus found one that could be delivered in time. Jazz hobby I found the cheapest but 50/50 with dreaded customs.

Slipper kit, thought it would make sense as I fancy a bit more oomph, help out the gearbox. Not sure on esc/motor combo, brushless, brushed or a specific crawler setup. Need to do some research and see what you guys are planning.

Going to take my time to build it and enjoy it. Plus I have an egress to build 1st, of to sort it out now :)

Looking forward to pics from you guys, on your builds.

I am just waiting for a chap on tamiya forum to get back to me regarding a both a 959 and a grb :)

I just cant resist lol, ive had both before tbh, the 959 was nib and i could not bring my self to paint it?? Really regret flogging that now, i also had a nib body set that i paid close to 300 for lol?? Insane really.

Ive had a nice grb celica to that i bought off ebay, was already built and painted but was mint, again regret selling that too.

The mrs looked at my bruiser progress last night, axles and chassis done, she said is that all youve got done?? I said yes love, its not like building my losi 8 etc, get it done asap, i like to savour a tamiya build :) she replied, ohh ok, whatever, lol.

Not on the same scale, but I sold my 1st 5th scale 5b ss, always regretted it tbh and 2yrs later I built my ideal one. Always costs you replacing the sold rc's lol.

I wouldnt part with the stuff I have collected now or built, plan is to just enjoy them, maintain them and when I retire, break open a few kits to build, vintage by then of course :)

Gotta agree fella, a Tamiya build is one to cherish, blooming nostalgia lol.

Looks fantastic...good job on that bruiser! (Don't know much about the TT02 but I like the idea of the Mk1 escort drifter!) My drifter is a TA03F pro with a Subaru Brat pick up shell!!

Can't wait to get the wheels on mine! Looking forward to the shell progress.
