so anyone on here run this setup?? if so any vids,, also opinions on the combo would be good too

Sounds like a budget buggy setup...and I reckon it's going to be marginal in a truggy.

Keep a close eye on temps and gearing. It's a very short can (65mm ) which means it will not be big on grunt. The 1900Kv would go better.

Wouldn't be my first choice setup.

Plug in the 4S .... but keep the temp gun handy!

My turnigy 2350kv had a 18t pinion and it felt hot so I put a 16t pinion on it.

It still feels hot.

One thing I have been advised to get is a temp gun. That way I can find out if the motor really over heating or not as my fingers aren't that great at giving me accurate centigrade measurements...

Yeah that's certainly not the best combo for an 8ight-Te, I had a similar one in my buggy and on 4s it ran quite warm with a 15t pinion.

Don't worry too much if the motor runs warm, as long as it's not sizzling hot, I maybe wrong here but judging by my own experiences with different motors, the shorter ones tend to run a bit hotter.

think ill drop down to a 14t and try it if it still gets warm then ill flog the system and buy something else ,, one problem i am having though is when driving forward i hit the brake and it stops,, i hit the brake again and it goes in reverse,, but when going in reverse if i press throttle there is no brake or delay it goes straight into forward any ideas on how to sort this??

If possible check the settings on your esc.

My esc has three modes; forward only, forwards and reverse then forwards, brake, reverse. I can switch between modes with my program card.

It sounds like your esc is set on forwards, brake, reverse. It's probably set like that to stop you from damaging your drive train/gears. Imagine going forward full pelt then pulling reverse, something could easily get damaged. In general reverse is not as fast as forward so that's probably why the esc will let you gas it forward while you are in reverse as there is less chance of any damage occurring.

At least that's what I think. I hope it makes sense to you lol.

yes bud ive got a program card ,, brakes are set at there lowest,, it just seems like theres no breaks or everything its got,, also on my esc i just have both lights on constant ,, no green when going forwards or red when going back just both all the time ,, if i turn my dr down on my tx i can turn the throttle down but the dr for the brakes dont do a thing
