Isn't this the same as the hpi baja and all its clones?

Meh, the people that care can buy the Durango and for those with less money or don't care there's this. Then they'll probably upgrade to the Durango as their interest/finances allows. Or are they scared of the competition?

Anyway, isn't imitation supposed to be the sincerest form of flattery or something?

lol this is nothing new

look at 1/8 buggies, take the shell off and they are nearly all identical, RTR kits no, i mean kit kits, there is so much innovation before the next big thing comes along, but for now companies will base their products off designs that work, The Agama a8  for example is allll most identical to the kyosho tki3 they just have their own slight differences. No different here

If i had the spare cash now id buy a dex210 kit though for

The original press release 'like a 210, but with improvements' was OK, calling it a new design is however a bit of a blatant lie. Baja clones admit to being copies of the HPI original or simply make no claims at all. 1/8ths all look similar because this is the accepted solution to designing a nitro buggy - there are subtle differences though.

Looking at the two pictures side by side it really is a 210 clone. Some shots they dont look identical but its because the two models have been set up differently (look at the front axles for example) and both are possible from the same fit. The 'different rear geometry' seems to translate to 'our gearbox is wider so the rear wishbones are shorter'. If the gearbox is the one patented part of the car it would explain that.

However the joke is on Intech right now. With V1 210's selling at just

Remember a item only has to be 10% different from the original item to pass copyright laws.

So those tiny details like moving screws an extra 3mm here and there will pass it.

But yes they have copied it

this can also include coloured parts :)
