  1. i hope I never get this bitter about rc cars 😂. The poor guy seems utterly bonkers

  2. RC prices  we all know prices have gone crazy.  but $449.00  for a servo winch seems insane.

You go back 8-10 years in this very forum and there were some that are still around today trying to tell me that the Traxxas Slash Ultimate was good value at £500 or more.

Allowing them to get away with it then has allowed them to get away with it today with people saying the same about the XMaxx.

  3. Well I think the time has come to sell the summit and slash! Summit hasn't been used in 12 months and the slash hasn't moved since I bought it.

I sold most of my stuff once, Never will again, Well I would if a desperately needed the money and I had to do it, But all the time I don't need the money I wouldn't again.

I know I'll come back to it at some point, So I'll just stick them on a shelf on show until that day that will inevitably come around again.

  4. What's with used car price's being all over the place and the "lack" of used cars? I thought the majority of the country bought new cars over the various lockdowns so where are the one that've been PX'd or have perfectly fine ones been scrapped for a discount on electric ones?

I just put my plate in We Buy Any Car, And even they will give me 8 grand for it, And last year when it was a year younger with 3-4000 miles less on the clock they would only give me 6.

      Crazy.

I'm a bit dubious of pictures like that, All cars these days are built to order, You spec your car including colour, Interior, The wheels and many other combinations which is how they can give you a delivery date, So what are all them.

The price of second hand has gone silly, As I have said before, My Corsa that I bought as a pre reg nearly 4 years ago for £11,200 is now worth between 9-10 grand, A year ago it was only worth between 6-7 cos I remember thinking about getting rid, But wasn't worth it and may as well just keep it and run it into the ground  as it only had about 12,000 on the clock.

I have had no trouble with These, I know some people my look down there noses, But I very much doubt any of the RC branded stuff is made in house and is sourced from China.

Had the set for 6 months or so and still look fine, Think I paid a tenner, And These for 10 quid are good, It's not as if we have to swing off them.

You say around 650 miles a week, Round that up to 700 and that's  140 a day over 5 days, I'm not saying that's any consolation when you have a job 200 mile away and not knowing if you can get home, But it shows how close it is to be practical.

But I did just have a look and the e-Belingo only dose up-to 170 miles, So that's rubbish.

I do agree that the infrastructure is something to be desired at the moment, But when most people look at how far they go each day, A high percentage would get by on a single charge, Many would go most of the week on a single charge.

They say the MG will go 270 mile on a charge, Lets be conservative and say 230 real world, That will still get us the furthest we go which is to see family in Sheffield on a single charge, Plug it in there end, So that's to Sheffield and back on a tenner, I could go to work for a couple weeks on a single charge.

Leasing a petrol or diesel would not be worth it to us and would just keep the cars we have, But as I said the saving almost pay for the lease at the moment.

Would love that, But just can't justify it, I'm a 15 minute 8 mile drive from work and other than that I don't do too much driving.

But it's a case of flog the Focus for £1500-£2000 or the Corsa for £8000-£10,000 depending on the day,We buy any car will give us 8 grand for the Corsa, That's how stupid the market has gone.

We'er getting the MG cos it was a pretty good deal and it's just for her, But I will say that the equipment level is off the scale for what they cost, And the 270 mile range.

We have took out a lease on a new MG ZE ev that comes in March, Never had a lease before, We bought a new Corsa for the wife a few years ago and we have an old reliable 09 plate Focus. The wife dose a good few miles with doing gym runs with the little one and the Corsa was the wrong choice really so she never uses it and after nearly 4 years it only has 15,000 miles on the clock and the Focus 90,000, But lucky we paid £11,200 for the Corsa and with the price of second hand it's still worth between 8 to 10 grand.

We got the MG on not a bad deal at £9,500 for 3 years with 10,000 miles a year, But we got £250 cashback, First year insurance free and free home wall charger worth £800, We worked out we are doing at least 250-300 quid a month on fuel for the 2 cars, And she is doing most of that cos the Focus is a petrol Auto and only dose about 30-35mpg, So with the £25 a month road tax saving a and fuel saving it's about the same as the lease.

  12. Gah I can’t decide. MT10 on 2s, MT8, widemaxx, outcast on 5s or just bite the bullet and finally get the dream rc - namely an xmaxx. I’ve wanted a 1/5 mt for like forever - ever since I first saw a fg monster beetle 😵💫

Any other single pack MT’s I should be looking at?

Never had an XMaxx, But I just can't get my head around the price, So I never will.

I would just find it hard justifying to myself that for the new price of an XMaxx I could have and kit out with Max8 Combo's  2 Kronos XTR's kits.

Or if you so desire for an extra 50 quid  you could have a Jambo XP RTR, A Punisher RTR and the 4s Radix RTR.

  16. Went to a local Facebook RC club/group meet today. What a poop show.
Maybe 25+ people there and although friendly enough people there it was really dangerous.
Was held on a small industrial estate type area. I was there for maybe 15 minutes before I saw some poor guy (maybe in his late 40's early 50's) get wiped out by a huge 10kg+ monster truck. Literally took his legs out and smashed him to the ground.
Driver was apologetic obviously but there was no safety or basic rules arranged by any of the so called club leaders.
I've spoken to the guy who got hit and he's actually in a lot of pain now, ...hurt his back & ribs as well as a few cuts/bruises.
I stayed for only a short while after that accident then left. Didn't even bother taking my RC truck out of the car in the end so slowly discharging my batteries now back to storage charge. Waste of a day.

So, Lewis Hamilton gets covid, A driver is taken from a  family team at the bottom of the grid to drive in he's place, Said team that is bailing out after more than 50 years in the game, And one of the pioneers of F1, With 7 driver and 9 constructor titles, Said drive go's on to nearly have  a fairy tail win, And Netflix don't mention any of that, Or anything about Williams what so ever, Disgraceful, What's the point in following the teams all season for that rubbish.

Can someone put up some links for this and save me the time trying to find it,  Don't get why people never put up links as if there breaking the official secrets act or something, If they what to hang there dirty washing out in public, I wonna see if it's clean or not,

It's OK, I've found it, I'm not really up on Facebook, If I'm honest, I hope it really kicks off,  I don't know them on a personal level, Or any level,  So don't have any vested interest, So if they want to go at each other hammer and tong and give my lockdown life a bit of entertainment, I'm in.

A lot of this delivery being blamed on Brexit is kind of right, But not in the way you think, I come across an obscure article the other day about the cost of container shipping quadrupling, The reason is that there are physically no containers,

There are a lot sitting in the UK due to us stocking up so much in prep for Brexit,  Also, Were a container ship could be turned around in hours, Due to restrictions, staff shortage and social  distancing in ports all over the world, And especially in Asia, Ships are now taking 2-3 weeks to turn around.

Come on, Please, It's not like there is some French cheese producer just shrugging this shoulders and going ' Oh well, Can't sell to them brits anymore' , I find it fundamentally disappointing at not how little faith we have in our politicians at the moment, Cos we all don't have that, But how little faith we have in the people of our own country.

Anyone would think that the UK is gonna up sticks and move to Mars, We will still trade with the EU, I can still buy cheese, A BMW, Some wine, I'll still be able to buy all the stuff I did before, Yes, Some stuff may be dearer, Some will be cheaper, We have been in this club for 40 years, Is there one person here that doesn't  feel ripped off every day, If it's so good how is it we bypass most of our shops and get our parts from over the water, Be it Germany, France, Italy or China,   The EU's second biggest trading country is China, And guess what, They have no free trade agreement with them, There trying to get one at this very moment, But guess what again, There trying to impose all the same things on the Chinese as they are on us, So you can guess how well that's going, So why in gods name if the Chinese won't bend over and take it, Why they expect us to, And on top of that, Why people in our own country are happy to be bent over, We are still in EU as of this moment, Still a fully paid up member of the club, Yet the French have closed here borders to us.

I know it's a big joke about fish, And we don't eat it so who cares, I'd like to eat more, But have you seen the price of fish & chips down the chippy of late, Think about it, Something we have more of than all the rest of Europe put together right off our shore line, And Cod & Chips still sets me back the thick end of 7 quid.

All what you just said is hypothetical, No one know how or what will happen,  The remainers were all shouting how our economy would tank if we even  voted to leave, Guess what, Nothing what so ever changed, In fact our economy become one of , If not the strongest in the EU.

Just so happens the same line was also being spouted  if we were so stupid as not to join the Euro, Guess what, Once again nothing changed  what so ever.

Remainers were also saying that if we leave the EU without a deal our economy could see a down turn as much as 3-5%, Well, It's already took a 11% down turn, So I'll happily take another 3-5 if it means getting out of the shower that is the EU.

As is fair to say, We are gonna have to pay back all this money that we have been thrown about at the moment, So has every other country in the EU, Difference is, We are only gonna have to find the money to pay off our own debts,  Them in Germany and France are gonna have to pay off there own, As well as pay of the debts the likes of Italy and Greece,  We will be able to change stuff, Put on Tax's , Take off Tax's when and were we want, Allow companies to do what they want if it suits US, Why do you think the EU is so worried about this Level Playing Field,  Greece can't do anything unless France or Germany say they can, The same go's of Italy ,You think is gonna be bad for us, It'll be no walk in the park for them,  Wait till a few years down the road when some of the 27 realise they have not made a dent in paying back there share of the 2 Trillion Euro bail fund they got because Brussels won't allow them to play with there economy that best suits them.
