If you’re going for a fancy TT-02 have a look at these.  Got lots of shiny bits, more up to date suspension parts and hex screws.

I do rather like it but why are the front wheels wobbling so much in the video. Is that normal for a Carisma?

  3. Charging technology hasnt really moved on like I thought it would. Hmm

ISDT do one (the P30) that will do 1000w charging on a single channel or 1500w on two channels at the same time. Would need a fairly hefty power supply to go with it, so you’d probably be looking at something in the region of £600 if you went with their SP3060. For just two channels.

  4. @Gaz! Hiya, I read somewhere you said about end point adjustment on the weeny trx4 servos for the 2spd & diffs, how is this possible with a stock Tx/rx?

Does your Traxxas radio have the Bluetooth module installed? If so I think you can get a phone app that will allow you to set up things like end point adjustments for the Tx.

  5. Trx4 gurus! Do I need a 3s? Do I use my 3s 5000mh stick from my granite or buy a small pack for the front? Like a trx2328x 3s 1500mh?

I run a 11T Rocket 540 PLUS V2 brushed motor in my TRX4, with the two speed gearbox, which is about 2300kv compared to the 1850kv of the stock traxxas motor. I very much enjoy running it on 3S but have found for really technical trails sticking a massive 3S pack in the standard battery tray isn't as helpful as putting a smaller on up front. I just really wish they had made the front battery tray fractionally bigger so that a standard shorty pack would fit.

For a servo I've got a 32kg JX HV7032MG brushless model which I'm probably only getting 26kg out of as I've left the BEC voltage at 6.0V in case I fry the micro servos used to switch the gearbox and diffs.

I’ve bough zeee, Goldbat and SIGP ones from Amazon. So far all seem to be just what they say they are.

The only order I’ve put in with CNHL was from their uk warehouse. Didn’t have any issues and had my batteries in a couple of days.

  8. I’ve had a deadbolt, I’ve had a sendero, now I want a new crawler, I think I’m too fussy for FTX should I just go for the Trx4 sport or full fat?

would an SCA-1e scratch my itch or is that lesser quality over my previous?

What sort of thing will you be using this for? Full on rock crawling or more general trail driving with a bit of crawling thrown in as well?

I'm pretty happy with my TRX4; I find that the lockable diffs and two speed gear box make it a much more fun thing to take out on the trail so that's what I'd want to stick with for a trail truck. I might  be tempted by something else, possibly a vanquish or a custom build, if I was looking at something that would only be used for crawling.

Yep, pretty terrible today and generally slow for a while now. The unread post thing stopped working about a month ago for me.

  13. Be me: build a TRX, realise you want a hinge mount for the new shell, look it up, decide that £30 for a plastic part is unacceptable, and then spend £600 on a 3d printer to make it yourself just to spite a scalper. That'll show them.

  14. Appliance Electronics?   Can't remember if they're looked upon fondly amongst the msuk brethren?  Always getting them confused with MIBI...

I’ve had all the stuff I’ve ordered from them turn up quickly and without fuss. Never had any reason test their customer service but I’ve never heard anything negative about them so wouldn’t be worried about that.

I used a free program called GIMP, it’s not the most intuitive thing to use but there are loads of videos out there that show you how to do most things with it.
