  1. Trying to heat-treat some CS70 annealed steel strips, to make leaf springs.

     

    But, everytime I heat-treat (with butane torch) and immerse in water, it doesn't really get "springy". It's a little harder and more sprung, but not enough and any real application of force just results in it staying in the new shape.

     

    Any advice?

      Make sure that you keep moving it while in the liquid, the bubbles will displace the water causing it to cool slower.
