mond 1,163 Posted September 12, 2019 I'm not excited but I'm also not disappointed. It's specced way higher than the normal Axial stuff. 1 Quote Share this comment
martin34 742 Posted September 12, 2019 It just looks like a bomber without the spare wheel to me but I don't know anything about these sort of trucks. Quote Share this comment

Funny how you can buy overseas and get one unit shipped including fees for cheaper but you can’t on multiple units, maybe that’s why Traxxas stopped you buying aboard to give the UK market a better chance to rob you blind 🤣🤣 1 Quote Share this comment
m4inbrain 2,491 Posted September 13, 2019 You kinda forget here that $330 doesn't include VAT. So even if it arrived with zero import duty and shipping costs (which of course it doesn't) it'd still be $396 or £320 incl VAT. That leaves £39 for shipping/import duty (import duty isn't just VAT but also ad valorem). I find that relatively reasonable. And that's also the reason why people order with rcmart - you save the VAT and import duty. I know shouting "they" screw us over" gives you lots of internet points, but realistically it's nowhere near that bad. 1 Quote Share this comment
mond 1,163 Posted September 13, 2019 The $330 also doesn't include state sales tax that a US customer will pay. It varies from state to state and some don't even have a sales tax. Do get mad about import duties though, especially given what may happen at the end of October, it's a stealth tax, nothing more. The end consumer pays it whether it's shipped individually or sold on by a reseller like modelsport and it all goes to the HM Treasury. It's also the reason HPI died the second time. 2 Quote Share this comment

Also as mond mentioned, in the US state sales tax is added afterwards as its different in every state and that can be upto 15%. It is possible to buy things cheaper by importing them yourself sometimes as well, but that could well be because the distribution in the UK has to make profit and they pay tax and the the retailer has to make profit and pay tax as well. If you thing about it the price in the USA has only been taxed twice whereas by the time it gets here its been taxed about 5 times XD You could also factor in the volume that the USA distributor and retailers buy as well, they sell loads more in the USA so the unit cost could well be lower. Yes which is why I said I get import tax and shipping it’s the other I get angry about, $60 odd dollars lost to the government for what ! On every unit it’s outrageous considering you just paid one lot of import tax to get it here As for internet points I dont give a monkeys about them I’m more angry at why we get screwed over twice if you get where I’m coming from. Surely we should pay one or the other if importing, import tax or value added tax It also gripes me when you pay shipping to your door from aboard to then be hit with a Royal Mail charge of £8-£11 when you already paid the shipping company another ripoff Britain scam that is I know maybe it’s just me being a grumpy old git but sorry it just hacks me off Quote Share this comment
Pistonhead 1,810 Posted September 13, 2019 I know it’s pretty much built by TLR or to their standards - you can see little TLR influences in the design too like the shocks and the adjustability and tuning capabilities, should have TLR durability too...
