I've created a garden course for my son's scx10, we're both new to rc'ing so having fun learning together, he's 4 and had decent skills for his age (in my biased opinion anyway) Youtube Channel - RC Crawler https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCPh9369ndePE03NrIeoqLxA5 points

Its not just the fact that the esc's were blowing, they are generally rubbish....mine worked fine but you could not adjust any settings on them, well i think you could adjust brake force and turn the lvc off but thats it. Also it self callibrates when you turn it on which i hate and full throttle came before full pull of the throttle trigger which i found made it difficult to control the attitude of the car during jumps......thats why i got a trusty quicrun 150.1 point

Time to get some decent 5.5mm bullets and change all your batts and esc to one unit makes life so much easier ..Time your done you'll be a soldering genius ! Get a a decent soldering iron around say 80w a third Hand or a set of grips or both, bit of flux or a flux pen and of coarse some solder have a good play around with some old scrap wire then once you got your eye in crack on with the job in hand. Just don't do it on the dinning room table or your asking for trouble !! Or if your up in my neck of the woods give me a knock and bring your xmaxx ! How you getting on with them cheapo lipos in the Xmaxx ?1 point

I looked at the mad cruiser and the foxx and really liked the idea of them but I really want a more classic MT. It's the child of the 80s in me.1 point

hi guys, im trying to find a couple of parts that i need, the first is for the sway bar, its just the connector ball joint bit i need (see pic) and second is the brake rod, just the actual rod (see pic) ive found them in sets which cost silly money as they come sold as a pack with other bits that i dont need! so im just trying to find them single, any ideas? Thanks1 point

Memory foam for a mattress topper to go on my Bedchair when doing long sessions. Maximum comfort for me!1 point

Tips after a lot of use start to go bad also overheating is bad for them but a lot of heat is needed on some of the bigger wires. some tips can be saved just by sanding off all the muck.1 point

Right size tip for the job, flux and tin both parts, and unless you have asbestos fingers, something to hold the parts steady while solder cools.1 point

i use to think my soldering was bad but i found out the iron wasn't getting hot enough. so my tips on soldering are iron has to be hot enough also a bit of flux really helps. also changing the tip can help as they sort of burn out after a while.1 point

I finally have some from the weekend! Lots of slo-mo It took some huge hits and the anti-bend rods did their job now that they're captured, what a difference! https://youtu.be/go4TqmtBAn4 If someone could embed the video for me i'd be very grateful.1 point

Cheers fella I couldn't hold off any longer so ordered a set but went the unmounted route as I'm not keen on the f11 wheel although I do think it's a more solid design I just prefer the desperado rims.1 point

Screw too long? Gone all the way through to the diff ring gear jamming it in place perhaps? Considering you only changed a hinge pin holder it must be something stupid like this. I had that when I put longer screws in the bottom of my diff under the chassis.1 point

Well its nice to have an RC back on the shelf to tinker with lol. Got the engine mounted properly now, Had to do a bit of trimming so when bolted up it still rolls smooth as its very close to the rear belt cover. Also had a look at the Oddie big brake conversion, 80mm disks give lots of braking force lol Had a look through my old spares box and found these. Dont know where i had them from or what for lol1 point
