  3. I'd import if it was cheaper yes but would this mean I had to then import parts or is the a uk supply waiting on parts for weeks at a time can be a drag and it spoils the whole exsperence for me . Mind you I could always build up a small stock pile of the most in demand bits

  4. well after about 12+ years owning the FG monster & upgrading it as I went along...I now have it how I want, most parts on it are now elcon, the hardest part to come by was the all-in-one drive train that elcon do (or did!), its a 5 piece design but theres 1 part of it which to find was a nightmare, but finally got it not long ago only thing I might upgrade in the near future is hydros, at the m im using cables but they aint too great but do the job for now. Ive also got a brand new FG ST shell that I still haven't painted, im undecided weather to keep it or sell it & get another beetle shell as if I was to keep it, id need to chop a lot from the front end so it clears the tires. Anyway heres some pics

  5. Damn! Lol Cold air temps and plastic....not the best mix. Still, a minor part in the grand scheme of things, better that than my wager

  6. I need to check the vid tbh. I had just cartwheeled in at full throttle maybe 30ft....? Had a quick look at it. All seemed fine. Went for the return jump , fast ish and took off wonky. It was my fault. And s hard ish hit. So im not particularly bothered. However it's the type of hit I could imagine doing fairly often when bashing. ( not on purpose but when getting it a bit wrong) ill post up pics when I get home.

  7. I can't recall which ones I saw, I just remember seeing Wraith ones when I bought my SCX10's steering links, sorry mate. Maybe fire RCMart an E-Mail and ask them, or have a look and see if Axial do them? RCMart are also good for the VP fans because the shipping from VP directly is a ripoff, no other word for it, you'd need to have a single digit IQ to pay $50 for a small bubble wrap envelope RCMart charges about $4-6 for the same item.

  8. That Feiyu Tech gear looks real nice. Not sure I can drop £500 notes on a camera set up and GoPro. Its amazing how how a nice website and branding can draw you in and create GAS.

  9. Upgrade gears and break the car ouch ! My guess is shock shaft. i had a big cartwheel on Sunday and was mighty relieved when it just pulled away with no issues. I need to order some spare bits to have on hand. Please post a pic of how the cam is mounted / works in relation to the transmitter. That sounds like a good solution.

  12. If you're using the stock brushed/brushless ESC that usually comes with the kit they unfortunately have a habit of just failing for no reason. They are working fine, you turn the car off and when you turn it back on the ESC has just died. Get a Quicrun 1060 ESC. Cheap but a really good little ESC that never seems to fail. You'll find it recommended often on this forum. I use one in my Super Hotshot. http://www.modelsport.co.uk/hobbywing-quicrun-1060-brushed-esc/rc-car-products/382831 You can get them for a few quid cheaper on eBay if you don't mind waiting a week or so. 17. I love the fact that some people still take such comments seriously, then band me in with or as a 'hater'. A question was asked, I commented, in jest, and tbh, the comment has some merit. Ain't stopping taking an unserious view to life, certainly where expensive toy cars are concerned anyway. Why does fun have to be serious? I've not brow beaten owners about going ahead with buying one, nor made negative comments about vids posted by actual members. If that constitutes negativity and hating, perhaps a parallel universe has appeared....perhaps an e.mail to Brian Cox is in order, he'd know.

  21. Thanks... Im 18 and have been into RC for a few years which is why i have the 4 cars, I'm full time Uni and work. I simply don't have time to take the car apart into a million peaces to learn its internal workings. I enjoy bashing and thats about it. Once again I'm sorry for some of the silly questions but thank you to those of you who have provided great help

  22. Blimey, give the bloke a break, just because he owns a few RC's doesn't mean hes a "expert" nothing wrong with asking a few questions and no need to alienate him.....

  23. Used to drive it around like this... Looked like it driven straight outta scrap yard, then proceeded to destroy a very angry man in a porsche 911. So much fun.

  24. My escort is a 4 door version, built as a sleeper, not to look brilliant but savage fsst. 0-60mph = 3.6 seconds, 0-100mph = 8.1 seconds. Beats all but the most exotic of machines. Including Ferrari 458, 911 turbo etc etc. And a cheeky one of my anglia... Which is faster still lol

  25. Well since the forum died all sorts of interesting things have been happening. It seems the project has taken a lot of interest since being displayed at the New York Maker fair a couple of weeks ago, to be honest its all been rather humbling and with the video at over 68K views in 2 weeks the term no pressure comes to mind lol. For those of you that haven't seen it here is the link to the Ultimaker Story: https://ultimaker.com/en/blog/view/17623-the-worlds-fastest-3d-printed-r-c-car#videoplay Here's a list I received from the guys at ultimaker of places that took an interest in the project. · Digital Trends (UMV: 5,328,841) http://www.digitaltrends.com/cool-tech/3d-printed-radio-controlled-car/ · CBS News (UMV: 4,868,554) http://www.cbsnews.com/news/watch-a-3d-printed-rc-car-go-100-mph/ · Motherboard (UMV: 341,842) http://motherboard.vice.com/en_ca/read/this-3d-printed-rc-car-can-go-100-miles-per-hour · Atmel (UMV: 174,685) http://blog.atmel.com/2015/10/15/this-3d-printed-rc-car-can-go-100-mph/ · 3D Printing Industry (UMV: 103,835) http://3dprintingindustry.com/2015/10/12/worlds-fastest-rc-car-3d-printed-on-ultimaker-2-extended/ · Ooyuz (UMV: 68,000) http://www.ooyuz.com/geturl?aid=8713989 · 3Ddozzer.com http://www.3ddozzer.com/2015/10/14/worlds-fastest-rworlds-fastest-rc-car-3d-printed-on-ultimaker-2-extendedc-car-3d-printed-on-ultimaker-2-extended/ · My Local 3D Printing https://mylocal3dprinting.com/blog/tag/3d-printing-car/ · Asia Tees https://www.asiatees.com/article?%5BVIDEO%5D-Watch-A-3D-Printed-Car-Go-100mph&id=2332 · Rapid Ready Tech http://www.rapidreadytech.com/2015/10/rc-car-enthusiast-aims-for-world-record-with-3d-printing/ - 3DPrint (UMV: 1,710,607) http://3dprint.com/99778/3d-printed-fasted-rc-car-ever/ · Speed Society (UMV: 1,165,343) http://speedsociety.com/worlds-fastest-3d-printed-rc-car-ultimaker-3d-printing-story/ · 3Ders.org (UMV: 173,328) http://www.3ders.org/articles/20151008-take-a-look-at-the-world-fastest-3d-printed-rc-car.html You have also been hosted on CNET: http://www.cnet.com/news/3d-printed-rc-car-tops-speeds-of-100-mph-tomorrow-daily-258/ So what does this mean for the project .......... well it basically means no turning back until I beat Nic Cases record of just over 202Mph. Following the success of the Ultimaker Story I have been contacted by the guys at Colorfabb and They will be working with me on the project and I will be testing some brand new materials that are not yet on the market so I'm really happy to have them on board with the chaser project. I'm also looking at seeing where I can loose some of the ally parts and replace them with redesigned parts printed in CF20 their Carbon laced filament and following some motor mounts I printed for project X it looks like there could be some interesting developments coming soon.
