  1. If they are Castle motors I'm sure Suicideneil will let us know, doesn't feel right talking about Sirius motors without him chipping in and telling us all we are wrong

  3. Correct. I don't know of any rc companies that sell something you get on your cod from the chip shop. Matt

  6. they aren't copies at all. they are made by the original equipment manufacturer of castle motors. look on the back of a modern NEU-Castle motor - "made in china". nuff said. they are castle motors, just not castle and not green

  14. Only just noticed those are two of the same mount I would ask to buy it off you but I'm using a 1518 in my E-Revo which is a bit longer lol. Yes you can dye blue RPM to black no problem, I did. You can always dye colours darker, but not to lighter

  18. Shore rating is the hardness of the tire... the higher the number the harder is it, and obviously the lower the number, the softer... Harder tires give less grip but last longer, Softer tires give more grip but wear out faster...

  20. Do you have 'Troll mode' turned on by any chance? What exactly are Castle lying about? http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showpost.php?p=414430&postcount=9 I suppose 'powerful' is a bit of a misnomer, but they are an improvement all the same; what makes you say they are generate less torque- have you ran an original 1717 against the XO-1 version in identical setups, or on a dyno to see what power they output?

  21. I didn't know you had an HPP motor mount too, got any pics? Or did I miss them lol. For dying it I just used the biggest container I could find, use all the dye in the packet and as much water as you need. Boil the water, add the dye and mix it in and bring it to the boil again if you can. It's kinda fiddly getting enough boiling water going at the same time lol, so I got like 4 large pots water boiling, then stirred the dye into one of them, poured that into my container (an old washing up bowl), then poured the rest of the boiling water in, and popped the chassis in. Make sure to turn it so there is no air pockets. I kept it in the dye until it was cool.

  24. They look like fantastic motors for the price, although do look like exact copies of Castle which i can't say I agree with. I mean it won't stop me buying one when I need one as they are priced so well and probably perform amazingly, but I feel bad for Castle lol. I have a feeling somebody will be taken to court soon if they are copies. But I don't know the full story, I don't have a clue lol. Could be OEM Castle motors for all I know... I thought Castle made their own Castle/Neu motors themselves though, the others are OEMs.

  31. Before, this is a stacked and aligned AVI file, you can see it looks a little off focus, and is not very crisp. the seeing was bad wavy image bobbing in and out of focus. After, this is after we have adjusted the wavelets and the brightness/contrast. notice how the craters look more crisp than our before image. we have teased out the data captured and layered it to give us a nicer image. the thing is the amount of data you have. the more data (pictures) you have the more data you can adjust in software. registax and other softwares look at these images and choose the best %, so more is better. Trying to work with 1000 pictures will be hard, so split them up into batches. then once those batches are stacked and aligned ( saved) use them as the final stacking and aligning ( using the best of the best). stacking and aligning can become a computer memory eater, so smaller batches helps to. now color, everyone asks what color is the moon, but to be honest i could not say. when i am viewing the lunar surface i tend to see it with a blue'ish hue, with hints of a brownish orange. adding and/or working on the color chanels is up the the user. i love my monochrome look, others like a colored moon, the choice is yours.

  32. single shots will not be stacked and aligned in the software, it really needs a few shots to get the best. Aterlatus : am glad you and the misses are finding the webcam is working well, grabbed a darn good shot for first go. you have captured some nice detail already in the shot, and would say the AVI file carrys even more data that may be gleaned from it. cheap or expensive just goes to show a little time and effort is always rewarded with nice images. Prezzie i can guess already something long with a couple bits of heavy glass lol. load the AVI into registax, follow my tutorial on page 18, have a mess around and then show the misses the before and after shots. i am sure the " special favors" will be for more than a month. just do not let her see how you workflow the file or those special favors are out the window as she learns how to adjust the images and files herself. Dtokez very nice moon shot, and the star trails " omg" nailed to the tee. think ting ting is going to be bashing your ears on info and how you gained the shot. a torch with a red sweet wrappper over will help in those black nights. the red light allows you to see and also has less impact to your shots. us astronomers always have a red torch to hand. ting ting : keep at it, the moon will be more easy for you to hone your skills with imaging and also software tweeks. plenty of contrast and targets, i started out just like you all guess work and stress, but it does get 100% better and becomes more fun in time. moon is best target when its about. then i would go for something like a star cluster , not as bright as moon but plenty of stars in the field of view. couple of months and them skys start to darken down giving those DSO and nebula time to show the glory Me i had nothing last night, plenty of cloud and light rain, but well needed. looks like it will be on and off for next couple days here in the flatlands of norfolk.. i grabbed 2 short avi's from guide scope. 22s and 59s ( 240mb and 900mb ) both in full HD but bad seeing and clouds giving me headaches with the data captured. messy but i will see what i can salvage over weekend ( no high hopes to be honest)

CF and clear chassis guards from Andy www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95831 Very nice product with holes that line up a treat. HS-225MG ready to instal along with the Traxxas/Ofna shock mod. Hope you like.

  41. you could cut the battery tray in half and then slot the chassis so it is length adjustable to the size of your lipo's. i have a split battery box and its useful for different sizes of batteries.
