Interesting post. Some 'minor' players make decent enough cars...but some also make utter junk. ACME ...I'm looking at you... As far as your choices went, the Annsman Virus isn't that brilliant a model either. Annsman make some OK cars and some less Ok ones, and unless it was hte upgraded Virus 2, it wasn't going to be any better than a budget make in terms of quality. Have to ask about tyres though.. I haven't ever had any real issues with factory glued tyres. All tyres need the occasional reglue, but that's just life. I tend to stick with more mainstream brands purely becuase spares are so much easier to get. I also tend not to leave my cars anything like stock, so having access to upgrade parts makes life so much easier. It can be done...but you have to scratchbuild a lot of stuff. I bought a Carson eStormracer for my youngest, and ended up upgrading a lot of the plastic bulkheads and braces with alloy ones...but I had to make them myself as the parts couldn't just be bought and bolted on. Not an issue for me, as I found it fun to do...but it's not everyones cup of tea. My biggest gripe with 'budget' cars is the fact that they get bought by novices, and are not really geared up to suit. Things like Team Infinity built motors have a reputation for being hard to tune and temperamental. A badly set up one is a pig to start....which is not good if you are trying to cope with one as a first nitro car. They cut corners to keep prices low.....but sometimes they should just bite the bullet..add a few2 points

RC Tip: When looking for an area to run your car, make sure it is one with many obstacles to keep you on your toes as an area with one single obstacle just lures you to hitting it at full speed1 point

Got to redo the rear frame mate so i can mount the rear end without the arms and driveshafts fouling on the cage, got to mount the servo, find a place for the esc and receiver, fit the brushless system and then go get it dirty1 point

Cheers mate I was thinking something along those lines, just need to get some pics and stuff and get it on the for sale section. Will miss it, its awsome but need a new (larger) turbo for my Impreza and she has to come first!1 point

Just one thing mate, try uploading a better picture, I've been put off many an auction from the fact it's got a tiny picture, and not enough detail (not saying it in this case, just mean in general in the past) so that might help your sale buddy.1 point

Set it to lipo, then tell it the voltage you want it to activate at. Fully charged, your cells will be 4.2 volts, the lvc will cut power when they drop to the selected voltage, ideally 3.4 volts per cell or 6.8 for a 2s pack etc.1 point

Oh yeah forgot about that, the the blitz is a rigid little truck but as said will make it brittle Are you going to race or is it just for messing about with? Or both ?1 point

Well I think I found out the culprit to the loss of drive on the rear, one of the rear wheels has stripped its hex, got a few spares so all should be good before bedtime1 point

I had a Blast a few years back. It was a bit floppy to say the least, the plastics seemed very rubbery, I fitted rustler rear hub carriers and larger bearings. Also swapped the poxy screws for stainless ones and had a carbon chassis made. I made a delrin tray to hold my 3s lipo It was a lot stiffer with this my next effort was trying to fit a 48 pitch spurgear but to be honest even after shimming the diffs the quality of the plastics etc made it clear that this was never going to be a good 3s basher, it was no rustler, so I sold it and built the crt .5 up instead.1 point

Tip 1 - Don't use Byrons 25% Nitro as a barbeque lighter. Tip 2 - If you fail on tip 1, don't invite the neighbour who's fence you are about to set fire to round to said barbeque. Tip 3 - If you fail on tips 1 & 2, don't eat anything cooked on what is left of the barbeque. It will taste foul. Tip 4 - Don't ask me how I know about tips 1-3.......1 point
