Any of you guys racing an E-Maxx out there?

Just seeing if any of you are racing an E-maxx out there like I will be doing over the next few months. I will be racing at Coventry Model Car Club racing track. I will be placed in the, I guess, 'bring what electric you have' class. It should be a lot of fun as I do enjoy racing. I raced a little bit (T-Maxx in Monster Class) when I lived out in California. I loved it. But, I have to say, the weather was a lot less rainy there. I have lived in England for 9 months now and I am still not use to all this rain.

Anyhew, here is my set-up for my E-Maxx:

Airtronics MX-3FHSS 3-Channel 2.4GHz

Traxxas Bigbores w/60wt oil

RC Raven Dual Rate Springs

RPM Towers, Braces, Arms, Axle Carriers, Bumpers & Skids

Rear Aluminum Skids

Front Hardcore Ti Skid

Front & Rear Alum. Bulks

MIP CVD's

Alum Ladder Braces

Ofna 17mm Adapters

Proline 1/2" 17mm Yellow Wheels

Proline Crimefighter tires or Mulchers

Novak EVX cooling fan <--Don't really need either but it might help when I gear up.

Running Stock Titans <--- You can make these quick if you gear correctly and drop weight.

Proline Stearing Kit

Heatsink Motor Mounts

Motors directly soldered

Deans Plugs

Gorillamaxx G1 Single Speed Conversion

UE Monoblock Extension (adds about 1 1/2" of length) <-- in the mail.

UE 8 Spyder Diffs

Tekno Wing Mount <---in the mail.

Proline High Downforce Wing

7 Cell GP3300's

6 Cell IB4200's

So, if you are racing your Maxx I'd like to know what set up you are running. I have had my truck for years so that is why I have soo much stuff on it. The one thing that made the biggest difference I think is the G1 Single Speed. It drops a lot of weight and the tranny sounds soo much smoother.

I will post a pic once my wing mount comes in.

Well, I moved from California to Amsterdam first. Boy was that a lot of fun! I moved over here to be closer to the other half's family. It was a good move. I was not the best at picking up a new language anyways. Plus, I could not bare being at a race track and being left out of conversations or just being plain left out of everything due to the language barrier.

I have uploaded some pics for you guys. My camera is total junk. Spent a lot of money on it and it takes pics like this. I did just put the wing on today. Now I am just waiting on the chassis extension by Unlimited Engineering. For those of you not in the know...UE is pretty much the best you can get. I wish I could afford more of their stuff but I'd end up spending 3000+ dollars to have it all. But I have their diffs and this extension I have been talking about.

I race an E-Maxx because when I moved over here I had to get rid of all my T-Maxx stuff. I raced at Delta RC Raceway back in the day, about 4 years ago. I loved it but I had to move. I could not post any of my T-maxx for fear it might not make it in the post. The post office warned me that if any detection of nitro smell would cause my package to be sent back to the house that I moved from. And that would mean my Maxx would have never made it over here. So I just took my maxx and left the chassis of the T in Cali.

Here are some pics. I cannot wait to get the extension!!!

unfortunatly apart from 1/10 touring cars and buggys electric racing isnt too popular over here

my track will allow you to race electrics aslong as your car fits in the class(1/8 buggy, 1/8 truggy, 1/8 truck)

thats a very nice emaxx, can i ask why you didnt go for the option of converting a revo to get better handling?

I had my E-Maxx before the REVO came out. I might go about creating an E-VO but I'm leaning towards a CRT.5. I like being different.

Having my Maxx compete against truggies or monster trucks would be kinda unfair. I can keep up with them on the technical parts but when it comes to any straights longer than 50 feet they lose me. I was told that they might put me in with the electric class.

What I am hoping for is that others will see my truck and think about getting one. My truck has stirred up a buzz with a few people. That is how the CRT.5 got started there last year. Once one buys another one wants too. Fingers crossed.

Thanks for the comment on my truck! Will post pics of the extension when it's on. It is a very interesting addition and will help with all aspects of racing.

PS: I do have a Hacker C50 Maxx 14.4 motor sitting here. I just need to get a controller. BUuuuuut, I am going to hold out for the summer. I have a few new Titan 550 E-Maxx motors sitting here. When racing I will gear them up so they will need replacing much earlier.

Here are a few pics of what I use to have. Most parts on the T are now on my E:

Do you mean no where to race it because there isn't a class for your E-maxx or that there isn't a track near yah? I'd still take my truck to the track even if I couldn't race it. I enjoy the setting up of the chassis to the track and practicing.

I just got my chassis extension. If you look towards the rear of the truck you will see a metal bit that extends the chassis by 1 1/2 inches. The truck handles soooo much better at the track now and now it looks like a true truggie which is what I was hoping for. It jumps so much easier and hits the straights full throttle with less back end wanting to come around.

E-SAVAGES BRING IT ON!
