I have an FTX Carnage, and just noticed that if I hold 3 wheels stationary, the other wheel can turn about 90 degrees before it has any resistance. This seems like a lot, does it mean the diff is knackered? I'm new to RC, and I don't know what it was like when I bought it, so not sure if this is normal or it's degraded. It seemed to drive OK, but it's a bit hard to tell when in dirt/mud as it's sliding around anyway! Thanks! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Or, if thick fluid in diff, hold one wheel stationary and if can rotate the opposite wheel fully then it has a diff. As others have said, 90 degrees of slack on one wheel isn't anything to worry about. When driven by the motor it all works in a different way and the slack won't matter.
