Wheel rotatation when other three are held.

Hi all!

I have an FTX Carnage, and just noticed that if I hold 3 wheels stationary, the other wheel can turn about 90 degrees before it has any resistance.

This seems like a lot, does it mean the diff is knackered?

I'm new to RC, and I don't know what it was like when I bought it, so not sure if this is normal or it's degraded.

It seemed to drive OK, but it's a bit hard to tell when in dirt/mud as it's sliding around anyway!

Thanks!

Depends, are the diffs locked as standard or do they work as normal diffs ?

I'm afraid I don't know, but the ftx website says:

"The 4wd shaft drivetrain features metal diff gears and front universal driveshafts, while an integrated slipper"

If you rotate one wheel and the opposite wheel turns in the opposite direction, it has a diff.

Or, if thick fluid in diff, hold one wheel stationary and if can rotate the opposite wheel fully then it has a diff.

As others have said, 90 degrees of slack on one wheel isn't anything to worry about.  When driven by the motor it all works in a different way and the slack won't matter.
