Lopes3d
Hi, been slowly building a 5b with bits and bobs I’ve got eBay etc. I’m pretty stumped on the rear end of it just cannot get it to line up properly. Tried 2 different rear chassis (IRC+ genuine Hpi). Basically once it’s all tightened up the rotors are locking up on the Tr clutch housing also the engine looks to be sat up ever so slightly because the right hand engine mount doesn’t line up. fitted currently with a km alloy gearbox, km trans plate, new tr clutch system, new g320, dominator exhaust. if anyone can share any solutions would be great spent fair amount of time on it and not really progressing and more pics let me know TIA
Dun2504
Looks like the mounting height if the clutch holder post to me . Maybe a shorter spacer , looks like it is holding off the other mountings.
Danzzz88
In my experience mixing and matching these aftermarket parts is a lot of trial and error, sometimes fit OK, sometimes they need spacing, filing, reshaping, sometimes they are just simply not compatible at all. I would just say if you can come up with a solution to make it work then just do it and don't expect everything will fit everything else if not the same brand etc... However before chopping away at anything I will see with these big cars, they tend to have quite poor tolerances compared to the smaller scales..you aren't going to get the precise fit of an Xray 1/10 or 1/8.. so backing off all the screws and wiggling stuff about getting it all to mesh in harmony sometimes does more than you think it might.

Seeing as the OP originally posted on Dec 31 2023 one would hope they had sorted it by now 😀
