I cant remember exactly what oil wgt I have in mine but it will be in the  low 100s  for brushless not 10s for centre diff.  If you have the spider diff then it is a pain to fill.

I'm having a bit of an issue with getting my head around the weight measurements for diff oil.

When I was in to RC about 10 years ago the diff oils I bought were measured in 'wt'  these days it looks like they're measured in 'cst' (although I do remember seeing some back then in cst as well..)

I think my old Hyper ST truggy was running 7k-10k-5k or maybe it was 10k-10k-5k

(That was in wt, 7000wt, 10,000wt, 5000wt)

Trying to find the equivalent weight in cst is really doing my head in - it also doesn't help that anything number related also really does my head in 🤯🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

I generally use Team Associated oil,  so 250k cst in middle and 30k/20k cst in f/r. Mine probably need a service and top up as just ran them for first time this year and one sounds noisy. It comes down to preference and whether you can feel an actual difference when changing oil wgt.  Thicker wgt in centre diff helps reduce front wheel ballooning.

Is that what you're using in a Hyper ST?

Bought a few essentials today to go towards the build.

I'm pretty busy this evening so I won't get the chance to start building the ST but I will be starting it soon...

Aye, got 2 brushless and 2 nitro STs.  Its been sometime since serviced the diffs so just going on memory and the bottles of oil I have left. You can always dilute a too thick oil with a thinner one, so the range of oils you have should be ok.

What motor and esc will you be using?

Whatever I can get from modelsport or wheelspin lol. I think anywhere between a 2000kv to a 2250kv motor, matched with an appropriate esc

I open to all suggestions though as I'm having to relearn everything rc

Im using this in my st with a 16 tooth pinion and feel i could go up a tooth or 2 as esc and motor run coolish

cool mate at least your getting the little sod sorted out :good:

I'm happy to have got a little bit done this evening 🙂

I'm absolutely shattered from work today and only decided at the last minute to do the centre diff..

Does it matter if there are tiny air bubbles in the oil?

Can't remember if its best to leave them to slowly work their way or not?
