Help with Hobbywing combo overheating in Granite

I’ve just upgraded my Arrma Granite to brushless with the Hobbywing ezrun max10 SCT esc and 3660sl 3200kv motor and all the proper bits from the BLX3s version I.e new slipper etc and I’m having problems with the motor getting too hot and the esc cutting power.I have only ran it brushless in my back yard which is  not big enough to really open the truck up, I wasn’t  even able to get full throttle though maybe was heavy on the brakes, I’m running a 15t pinion though have a 13t and a 20t I was planning on trying. Has anyone with a similar setup got any experience to share? I should also mention I was using a 3s gens bashing batt, I have some 2s batts I can try in it, I have a heat sink fan coming for the motor . My only other guess would be pinion mesh is too tight though I spent time making sure it wasn’t. Sorry for the noob question, I was just expecting to drop this stuff in and go play. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Granite has pretty big wheels, so if you've checked your gear mesh, it's more than likely a combination of too big of a pinion and no cooling on the motor. Personally I'd try dropping to the 13t pinion and go from there. If your still worried about temps on the motor and esc, run it on 2s until the heat sink and fan arrive👍.

Once you've fitted a heat sink and fan you'll most likely find you can put the 15t back on without overheating.

I run the same system on my typhon smaller wheels but 20t pinion with no heat issues, I do have a fan on the motor. There are temperature cut offs that can be adjusted on the motor and Esc with a program card.
