Wow just wow!

I'm surprised how much difference it made too 👍

Its a wonder Traxxas haven't realised they could sell the exact same items as a pre-painted option.

Better than the factory fitted plain grey stuff anyway.

Glad all that's back together.

I'm now on with sorting out the power supply for the 2 cooling fans and any future small electrical add ons, if any.

I've tried a few ideas with the battery etc and decided on doing something a bit different with the location and the other fittings, made more work for myself as usual.

I was going to show a few photos but I'll wait until it's finished 😁

Bit short on time due to trying to finish our day van/camper conversion but I managed to get this lot done.

Decided to fit the low voltage alarm for the fans battery here:

Made a clear opening visor...just because I had to. 🤪

No idea why Traxxas made the plastic on the helmets so thick, massive overkill really.

It also made cutting out the innards hard work.

They were a few possible locations to fit the battery but I chose this one after making a tray from some scrap plastic I kept from something random.

The lipo is an Overlander (very) soft case so it was covered in foam and clear heat shrink wrapped to avoid the chance of damage and a fire.

Mounted the plugs onto a plate, recessed so they can't be pushed through or pulled out.

I made a bit of an error because I did check access through the windscreen for fitting/removing the battery and plugging the cables in, it was doable.

But I forgot about the light bar which fits across the top of the windscreen and sits quite low 🙄🤔

It ended up been a bit too fiddly getting to the battery and It would only end up annoying me when out driving so I came up with a plan to drop the battery in from above and get easier access to the plugs.  It was either this or remove the fake radiator completely for access, I didn't want to do that.

So I modified the roof of the shell and it turned out ok, I like it anyway.

I'll upload a photo when I remember to take some pics.

I know some people won't get why I did things this way, I get that, but I always do things my way and as long as I'm happy with the result then that's fine by me lol I'm all for doing things how YOU want them 👍

Little video.

The beeping is louder than it sounds, I've got the same one on a Tamiya and you can hear it when driving around.

I might end up not having to run the fans on every outing, I guess the weather makes a bit difference.

I can monitor the esc and motor temps on the Traxxas link and hopefully not fry things.
