With a slight nudge😉 I thought  I’d open a thread up for these .
Mines currently  stock but looking to add/do a few mods along the way .

First mod will be adding some weight to the wheels as these come with bead locks.

Anyone else have one?

Post your pics and vids 👍

First mod complete  👍
With the stock wheels being beadlocks I was able to add a fair chunk of weight to them .

Stock wheel comes in at 17g

Last run whilst  still in stock form 👍

The hill I’m on is massive and much steeper than it looks on camera, even my basher trucks struggle to make it up without flipping or spinning out.

@Jack Reacher Thanks mate 👍

Ive been messing about try to fit some Carisma MSA-1e oil filled shocks but doesn’t matter what I try they’re not gunna work .

I ended up ordering some o-rings for the stock shocks so I can hopefully run them with oil .

The O-rings I’d ordered turned up this morning, the plan was to glue an o-ring to the bottom of the shock body (seen a guy do it on YouTube) which would be enough to seal the shock shaft and allowing the shock to be filled with oil.

Long story short it didn’t work and was a complete waste of time 🤯

So I decided to have another look at the Carisma oil filled shocks I’d bought a couple of weeks earlier.
After a bit of modifying and using a couple of parts from the stock shocks I managed to get them to fit and the best bit the actually work great .
No more horrible bouncy, springing about from the stock friction shocks 😁

Trying to fill the tiny shocks was possibly the hardest part,I’ve gone with 60wt oil for now 👍

Will try and make a little test Vid shortly.

Great mod Tom, can you go into a bit more detail on how you got the shocks to fit?

And where did you get them from?

Im actually going to refill the rear shocks with 80wt shortly so while the shocks are off I’ll take some pics to show what I’ve done 👍

That fairly trundles along mate

Doesn’t it ! It’s a belting little rig and amazes me what it can do especially for the size of it 👍

The oil filled although a lot of trouble seem to work really well mate and a good write up on how to do

cheers JR 🍻 they’re fiddly little things to work on but yeah it was worth the hassle, I hated the stock pogo sticks 🤬
Ive got it back on the bench for some more shock tuning 👍

I was running 80wt  oil in the last vid which was way to light so they’re now filled with 3000cst .

Hoping to get a test run in tomorrow.

Found the perfect little bottle for filling these tiny shocks 👍

Thanks Tom, great explanation. I've managed to get my hands on a set of the Carisma shocks and I have a selection of O rings. All I need now is the time...................

You’re very welcome, any friend of Solo’s is a friend of mine 😁

It’s definitely a worthwhile mod 👍

Ive refilled mine with 5k cst oil the 3k still seemed a little light.
