Types for traxxas rustler vxl

I'm a complete newbie, just bought used traxxas rustler vxl and it needs new tyres. Can someone advise how this works. Do I need to buy traxxas wheels with tyres, just tyres, can I buy different branded wheels? I've looked in ebay and Google and I can't see alot hence bit confused.

usually goes by the hex size john ie 12mm/17mm etc and then different width tyres (2.8) and tread patterns buddy 

 

12mm for the rustler (1/10 scale rcs )but you can get upgrades to fit 17mm wheels which usually come on the 1/8th size cars 

depending on what sort of surfaces you will being running on 👍

You should get traxxes dish wheels and hpi front tyres 2.2 and rear tyres 2.2 thier called front lines and ground assult they can be found on wheelspin modles website

Check dimensions closely, you don't want anything too tall or you'll have gearing issues that'll overheat the motor and ESC.
