Truggy Wheel/Tyres....

Strange one! Ive never had a Truggy. Ive kinda messed up my stock tyres, so I want to buy some brand new pre mounted ones. Are Truggy Wheels/Tyres the same as a Maxx/Revo?

Wheelspin have these listed under Truggy:

https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/196443/

Are they the correct size or too big?

Thanks

The one's you linked are more MT sized, These are more typical truggy sized:

That said I run 3.8 badlands on my X1 CRT though there hard on the drivetrain.  Whether your SSTe would cope I don't know.  I did have HPI Goliath's (??) on mine, though it just wanted to wheely so they came off after minutes.

I run race type tyres on mine. I find anything else a bit heavy. Mainly grass runner.

The kind of things Doddy linked from ebay.

If you can get the Absima they'd be alright too. Just need to be sure your Truggy doesn't need offset ones.

Rich beat me.  Hobbyking stock the Louise-RC T-Pirates Guns - i've used some and find them a very good alternative to Proline's - there not too aggressive on grass either (like Badlands can be) - similar in grip to the Hobao spikes that the ST's come with.

I know of some offset ones, new, going a little cheaper than retail too ;)

Assuming you don't want spokes then iirc DE racing do black rims.  Or did.  Amain might have them though prob not on $1.99 shipping.

Yea, ideally a dished black wheel with a pre mounted tyre. Didnt expect this or the lipo to be such a nause, shoulda got a Savage lol

Hope you don't mind me jumping onto your thread.

I've recently built an hyper st pro and wanted some tarmac style tyres and came across the proline road rage tyres.

Would these be the correct fitting?

Also are there any other decent alternative tarmac style tyres?

Thanks in advance

I wanted to try Road Rage but couldn't justify the price tag.

Don't touch HPI Phaltlines, they're hard, wheelspin everywhere and wear out like mad!!!

I've seen Absima have some so they may be worth a punt:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Absima-Wheel-Set-LP-Truggy-Street-1-8-4pcs-NiP-/282067875300?hash=item41ac8e35e4:g:s04AAOSwbYZXX9A8

The Road Rage are wider so the 1/2 offset is needed. The Absima are standard width and have 0 offset.

Reading another forum thread about speed runs with a truggy, those Road Rages don't look good. They pizza cutter pretty easily by all accounts.

I've got the buggy versions of the Abisma tyre and it offers very little grip compared with a standard racing tyre like city blocks or or holeshots or something like that.

Hold out for the sweeps then. CML reckon May 5th:

Prob be August at least then

The Absima can't be as bad as the HPI!! Lasted me 25mins just wore out due to no grip.

I stick to grass at the mo with racing tyres.

I use Shockwaves on gravel.

Must admit if I went with RR I'd just get the tyres and gaffer tape them, have the rims already.

I had road rage tyres - usless.

Glad I didn't then. Phaltlines are junk as well.

D'you think you're just better off with city blocks or something and just be careful not to spin them up?

Mind you I've had my proline Shockwaves on tarmac for a couple of mins and seemed to stick, bit weighty tho.

I tend to avoid running on tarmac, but when I do I just use an old set of crimefighters, part worn.  They spun up as expected if I mashed the throttle but turning the punch down and being careful they we're manageable.

Think I'll avoid it too.
