Losi Desert Buggy XL-E

The spring rate may be different and the holes in the pistons may be wider. It's hard to say from the manual. I'm surprised they didn't address this, as it's a well known problem with the DBXL.

The guy in the Losi video says the shocks have been revised to run regular shock oil weights .If I remember rightly the shocks are filled with 35wt oil

How much is different on the MGM Losi 5ive? Its €4100, the esc, lipos and motor are around €1600, and a 5ive roller is around €1000 euros? Whats making up the rest of the €4k+

I wondered that myself.. I thought it was only about 2800 to be honest, I was surprised when I saw it was 4100.

Almost certain it never used to be that expensive :/

I guess the wheels/tyres/servo do make up a bit of it, but not that much.

What a turnaround, you had soooooo much hate for DBXL when it first came out

Yup,a man can change his opinion in the light of new information though.....

To be fair the new one on looks alone, is soooo much more appealing than the K&N one, with it's daft air filter and (to my taste) cheap looking paint scheme.

If they did this in a petrol version, I think I'd have bought one, it was the above problems I didn't like on the one I very nearly did buy.

I can't imagine it would be too hard to get it to work. They are practically identical cars, save for how the body opens. The back of the cage is different but not to much else.. Just a case of figuring out the part numbers to get.  I might spend some time over the weekend and work it out.

Just seen all Losi electric cars are now on sale at MS which leads you to wonder if there no longer going to stock Losi products ?

Just checked even the petrol cars are on sale as well !

The mtxl is now down to £899 !

I see wheelspin have most of Theres now on special order as well

Im starting to think I might hold off on getting one of these and see how things pan out with support etc now Horizon uk has closed it doors or so I'm told ?

Horizon EU recently decided who was in and out for UK retailing......perhaps MS have not made the cut, ergo no more Losi supplies from them. The sell off and non listing of new rigs would suggest this is so......

Wheelspin  prices are laughable, seems they received the price list in euros and merely slapped a pound sign in front. However, as they are listing them on the website, suggests they have made the Horizon cut.

Nige has Losi products listed at the correct RRP, which you'll note is higher than they were, reflecting the changes moving out of the UK has brought about.

It seems a strange way of doing business, almost as if Horizon decided that the UK market just isn't worth their time any longer.....perhaps Brexit had some influence on their decision?

Anyone checked Abbots or MMR for Losi stock........:whistling:

Regardless, there are UK retailers who will stock Losi parts, provided they are on the ball and can keep the shelves stocked of the right spares (which, let's be honest, is not entirely in their control, depending upon how well Horizon EU is stocked with spares) then I see no real issue. Certainly not putting myself off from having one of these in the fleet.;)

Weirdly, they are all listed as 'Sale' but a lot of the prices haven't actually changed?

In fact, some have gone up?!

Can't quite fathom that one out.

Trouble is with nige his price is so high compared to MS  Take Losi 5 nige wants £1,350 MS it's £999 mtxl same agian £1120 MS is £899 if it where say £50 different you could swallow it but not at these prices sorry.. So I'd hate to think what he is going to ask for this dbxl e ?

Abbots agian are pricy MMR are fairly reasonable though from what I remember ?

Having a small support network here in the UK might cause problems later down the line, us leaving the eu agian might cause issues on stock and pricing later on, it's all a bit up in the air to be honest so for me im going to hold off for a while just see how it all pans out..

Perhaps your right Losi just don't see the UK as a viable outlet anymore or one that's just not worth too much investment

There is an old saying all good things come to those who wait so waiting it out might be the best option right now ;)
