I'm gonna run a kyosho TC i have at my local club this winter and their rules state that i need a brushless 17.5 motor (ideally sensored) and a basic speed controller that does not apply any electronic timing.

Looking for ideas on a budget as i have to get a couple of 2s lipos (i imagine it's 2s only)

It will be 2S.  This esc should prob be suitable on a tight budget, though :

It used to be avail in the UK warehouse, alas it seems no more so unless you want to risk customs choose the EU warehouse.  There's a matching program card which will add to the outlay.

Sticking with the same supplier whilst your ordering from HK Eu warehouse this motor should be fine - they do have a slightly cheaper one (and one a little more expensive) though I can't comment on the differences - I do use a version of this one myself:

I don't race TC, so whether or not that ESC is competitive I don't know.
