Popular Post XV Pilot Posted November 4, 2016 Popular Post Share Posted November 4, 2016 (edited) Over the last week, a couple of workmates and I have been driving our RCs around at work over lunch break, using them to hand out leaflets about a RC-related fundraiser for Children in Need on the 18th by means of leaflet dispensers attached to the cars. In the interests of variety, I have been taking along a different RC each day. Through the week I have taken in a race-grade buggy, a F1, a touring car and a drifter, and each was received quite positively by some, but ignored by many others. However today I took along my Tamiya Farm King - the little WR-01 wheelie tractor dismissed by the majority of "serious" hobbyists as an obscure Japanese joke. And what do you know? Everyone loved it! More people took leaflets from the Farm King than from all the other cars combined! Some even interacted with it further, talking to it, patting it on its "head", waving to it, etc. So, while it seems that race-grade cars appeal to a few, by far the best ambassador for the hobby is a happy tractor!
