  1. So I have one of these little things. Bought it new a few years ago as an ARTR kit that was old stock. Put it all together, gave it a fetching orange & pearl white paint job & bought some nice hitec servos but could I get it to run? Could I ***. Tried different fuels, plugs, mixtures, allsorts. Wouldn’t have it. It’s since been sat in my shed completely unused and abit of a bummer for me as it’s essentially been a total waste of money but it’s a really nice little car. So to not bother trying to track down another tiny Sirio 06 engine that won’t work, I’d like to convert it somehow, can anyone point me in the direction of where to start? I’ve been out of the RC game since about 2015 and I can guess quite abit has probably changed since! Thank you all in advance
  2. So I’ve got a literal shed load of nitro cars that I haven’t touched in years, decided to get out the easiest one to start and mess about with which is the Traxxas Slayer Pro, stick some old fuel in it and put the EZ start battery in charge for abit. All was well, blasted it round the garden for a good half hour until it stopped suddenly. I’d messed with the fuelling as it was quite rich from running it in winter. Tried to start it to no avail, plug out and notice a load of aluminium bits on the plug. ***d it I thought. Engine out and crank plate thing off and one side of the piston skirt has shat itself The bore looks in good condition as does the con rod and everything else, but I don’t think I’d get away with just replacing the piston. New engines are over £200 on eBay which I can’t justify. So, is anyone selling a TRX 3.3 at all, or know of any alternatives? Thank you all in advance!
  3. Woohoo I have a DT too!![emoji1] mines being neglected ATM currently, which year do you have?
  4. When you thought Ted said your engines were in the Whitehouse, but were really at the warehouse.
  5. I ordered a Savage SS in August, stock arrival was due October, waited to the date to see the arrival date change to December, at that point I cancelled and got a refund. Looks like it's gonna stay out of stock indefinitely
  6. Made this awhile back, ended up ditching the grip tape as it was ruining chassis'
  7. Unfortunately spare for these trucks are getting very rare now, I'd have a go at printing them providing you have all the correct measurements and gear pitches of them, before you commit to buying those.
  8. That guys cat looked extremely tempted to bat it off the table
  9. Cannot complain atall for the money!! You'd probably struggle to get a half decent toy grade from toys r us for that!! Bet he'll be chuffed to bits with it mate
  10. Not RC but model related none the less, painted a Scalextric scoobie White as my dad kept complaining he didn't know which one he was
  11. If only my yellow car had the same effect on people, maybe the different bumper has taken away the mini's natural smiley face... Good luck with the fundraiser dude, should be a lot of fun in the process too
  12. The oil didn't work dude, messaged a guy on eBay who's selling one of these engines without the clutch and flywheel and asked if it has the same movement in the crank as mine and he said it doesn't which is making me believe even more that mine had a manufacturing defect, I bought it anyway for £25, providing the crank in this one is snug in the bearing I should be good to go, with a new top end from my other engine if I need it.
  13. Tried starting the Mini Inferno again after taking advice of putting some light oil down the carb to try and get some seal on the bearing, still runs like crap and cuts out randomly. Said screw it and made an offer on an eBay engine, messages the seller beforehand and apparently his engine doesn't have the back and fourth movement in the crankshaft like mine does which I am thinking could be the problem here so we'll see.
  14. Looks very smart mate, top job on the painting, and I hope Joe is glued on to stay, can't beat a dash of humour on a scaler
  15. Depends what surface it's on as well as the gearing, if it's geared for high acceleration then it will struggle to put the power down and wheel spin.
  16. I've always had good dealings with Modelsport, and I've ordered from them many times, this is a weird one as everything I've bought from them had always come on time. The only problem I've had is recently I had to send back a faulty servo and stated I'd like a replacement sent out, they instead gave me a refund and I had to email them again for a replacement, where they then gave me a voucher number to cover postage (if I hadn't have chased them up again if have paid the postage, which I shouldn't have to be doing when what I ordered was faulty). But that's it. I'd email them now and chase them up, as that seems quite strange and out of character for them, but number 2 does add up as it might be true. But having said that, the very day that something I'd ordered was meant to come into stock, it was updated straight away to be expected at a later date, but I suppose some things do slip through the net, especially smaller parts.
  17. Sold one, got £310 for my MP9 TKI3 readyset. Going straight in the savings for when I'm ready to upgrade my 1:1 car
  18. Best bet would probably be Proline, they make aftermarket bodies for a lot of cars
  19. Can you post a picture of this without it being an attachment as I can't see them
  20. I just imagined there'd be more resistance when moving it though, even with the collar on and flywheel tightened down I can imagine air being sucked through, even if it is just a few thou of a gap
  21. Thanks for all your replies guys, yeah my first thought when I saw how loose the fit was with the crank and bearing was 'that's not right' there's no side to side play in it but there's little to no resistance when pushing it back and fourth. I'll have a look to see if I have another bearing that fits, although the engine is tiny, a .09. The glow plug is the one that came with it, you get 2 and I've tried both just to rule out a flow plug issue. Also, the plug is smaller than a normal glow plug. The thread is 1mm smaller in diameter from eyeballing it Atleast, I'll get the verniers on it tomorrow to make sure. No idea where I'll get replacements.
  22. Got round to firing up the Mini ST and it's not running right atall, it starts and is very lumpy, the idle is unstable and when it gets warm it will persistently cut out, either idling or giving any throttle. My first thought was an air leak somewhere, took the backplate off and the seal is dry so no leaking there, the carb is one piece with the crank case so there's nothing to leak there, took the flywheel off though to check the bearing and the crankshaft isn't a tight fit in the bearing, could this be the problem? Bear in mind the engine is brand new, so it's not worn out to that level of looseness, I'm abit stumped!
  23. As said, if the cups are one piece with the shafts then they won't fit. Easiest way to check is to see if there's grub screws on your existing drive cups.
  24. What WT puppy milk you putting in those??
  25. Nuts as in good! Mine had loads of bottom end and made my truggy pull wheelies. And if you've had a gallon and a half trough it you're more than safe to lean it out abit on the hsn, won't need it to be too much now though as the weather is getting colder meaning the air is more dense.
