Hobbyking BSR Berserker 1/8 Electric Truggy

The Berserker 1/8 Truggy is for those who like driving on the edge of sensible and it has been built tough and reliable to make sure you can stay there. When we were developing this truggy our brief was for a truggy that was out of the box faster than anything we have made before and capable of doing that time and time again. From the chasiss, to the suspension, to the power system and even it's distinctive yellow and black painted polycarbonate shell, nothing has been overlooked to ensure it is the best available.

The Berserker is packed full of features that will leave the others for dead. To start with there is a solid aluminum chassis with aluminum front and rear shock towers to keep everything aligned and stable. High quality, big bore, oil filled shocks are used for the performance and handling you would expect in a high end race truggy. The sealed radio box keeps your receiver safe from any knocks and the huge soft square pin tires  are a great balance of performance to keep you moving over most surfaces from rocky trails to paved roads.

There is heaps of power already setup in the Berserker as it comes with a powerful drive train with a super high torque Turnigy XK 4082-1450KV motor being run from the reliable Trackstar 150A ESC giving extreme performance. The ever reliable Turnigy HV 1269 servo will keep you steering the right path no matter what the surface is and is designed to take the punishment of constant jumps and high G corners that the power system is capable of supplying. Also included is a Turnigy HK-GT2E 2.4GHz radio system to give you complete control.

One of the most exciting features of this truggy is that it comes setup for use with 3S or 4S batteries but if you want more speed then you can change out the 46T diff and 18T pinion gear and replace it with the 49T diff and 12T pinion gear included in the box that is designed to run with 6S batteries to get the Berserker really screaming. Don't be fooled though, the Breserker is plenty fast enough on 3S for most drivers, exciting on 4S and...BERSERK on 6S.

The Berserker is simply the most exciting wheeled vehicle we have ever sold and we know you will feel the same when yours arrives and you get out there and break the rules.

Interesting.

What I like especially is HK are now stocking the XK motor that's fitted to this - 4082 - in the UK warehouse.  They're awesome cans in my experience, just a shame this one is a little too low KV, necessitating 6S running.

Looks trophyesque to me, maybe it will replace the sabertooth. The downside to hk models is spares availability and hardly any available in the UK warehouse http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__2186__405__Cars_Parts-BSR_Berserker_1_8_Electric_Truggy_Parts.html cheap though hence why people stock up when they are available.

Good little starter kit but a 2.5mm chassis and all the weight from a big can (4082) and a 6s pack your not going to want to jump this thing too mad unless on a track with a nice landing area IMO. Typical HK style parts support will be hit and miss parts quality will be on the brittle side but on the plus side parts are cheap although usually only available on the global site .

Trouble with this is theres the tried and tested newly updated Arrma Kraton for almost the same money with better electrics and better parts support so you'd be a bit mad to buy this IMO

I've had a brainwave. What if everyone on here & all their rc friends email HobbyKing asking for part support in the uk?? Ive contacted them loads of times about this, but I've never had a reply.

Is it me or in that video did he just say if you buy the truggy he recommends that you change the connectors as they will fry? Not the best advertising ive seen however does look like a tidy truggy

So what's the difference between this & the sabretooth?

Shorter better parts and different combo from what I've read and seen this is a handful to drive I reckon with a few tweaks it would make an awesome monster truggy though ;)
