Nikonite
Bought an old car for a project without seeing it. Was advertised as a pb alpha (with different bodyshells escort mk1 and capri) . I really wanted to get an old car running. After a long drive I turned up and picked this up. Turns out it wasn't an alpha but a Mustang but I was unfortunately home before I realised that. After putting some nitro into the carb and glow plug hole the picco 21 engine is spinning freely and has compression but I have no way of starting it without a starter box. I spent most of the night stripping and cleaning it. Looks better for it. Yet again I have overpaid for something beyond my skill level. I can't help myself when it comes to vintage anything. I just prefer the old to the new.

ExLimeyBasher
I think that what you have there is a PB Alpha modified to off road. I remember the alpha well was the first suspension on road rc car available in the UK was affectionately known as a wibbly wobbly. The usual combo back then was Alpha with OPS .21 motor and futaba 27Mhz AM radio, Good old Days.

Nikonite
Can't believe I'm saying this but it runs, and runs well! I poured engine oil and wd40 mixed together down the glow plug hole and into the carb, turned the engine and left it to soak for a day. I worked out what the motor contraption I got with it is. It goes on a 12v battery and has a rubber ring to spin the motor from underneath. So new glow plug, decent fuel and 2 minutes with the motor later and it's running. Now starts really quickly! Would it be sacrilege to put one my flysky 2.4ghz receiver and some modern servos in in it and take it for a spin?

Gaz!
I would say a gentle run to see what’s what but finding spares will be difficult and expensive now too so wouldn’t go mad with it. the fact it’s now clean and a runner should earn most of your cash back I would think.
