Going to be building a dual ridge tt02b for my son and fitting a relatively mild 3500kv brushless setup in it...

Other than the obvious bearing upgrade is there any parts I should change straight away while building it? I'm happy to swap things as they break really but I'd anything is 100% going to break I'll swap it from the start.

Oil I’m using is a 9cc is thicker better

Thicker isn't always better. It depends what terrain your running on and how you want the car to handle with either fast or slow rebound and also which springs your using. Suspension oil is a whole tuning art IMO. For daily bashing on standard springs and shocks built following the instruction manual then the normal oil is fine. Because the size and amount of holes in the top of piston also makes a difference to how the car handles.

Like I said I got 9cc oil with yellow springs on track

OK, what are portals?

A channel through time and space, where you can insta-travel to wherever the exit may be. :@.@:

In this context however, they are axles that allow the driveshafts and diff housing to be raised higher, giving more ground clearance.
