Garry45
Good to hear your up and running and problem free as it does my bean in big time and no the feeling when things are going great and next thing u no you've done a whole tank and grinning lol Had the wheels off the floor but no where near as high as yesterday and think your right with the wind but every run wheels off the floor but not from the off its as soon as it hits that mid/high end there off and it's a sight to see and it never got close with the 990 and no that side pipe doesn't help and I just wonder what would happen if I ran a rear Dom!!! Think I would be on my roof lol Get out again mate and enjoy it while it's good [emoji106][emoji41]
flatout!
Grinning from ear to ear I was, it feels funny when the front wheels come up, iv never been close, but now bounce them front spring on and off the throttle and its up lol, iv got the rear springs as hard as they'll go and the fronts soft so they bounced it up, Thats probably what you may need to do gaz, wind your rear springs down to harden them up, so the rear springs don't Swallow all the power up, if the rear springs are soft it just squats down
Garry45
Was exactly the same mate and the difference between the 990 and 813 is significant but I think my 990 wasn't right or faulty as always had problems sorting the low end bog even on my old KM engine!!! Will take your advice and stiffen the rears up a bit and slacken the fronts right off as like u I was bouncing the front on full throttle and probably getting 3-4 inches off the ground and it was constant until I came off the throttle and its was doing that today and couldn't get it to sit right up so didn't bother getting any video plus 2 many people around for my long speed runs which was a bummer but always next week [emoji106] Edited August 2, 2015 by Garry45
flatout!
Don't forget though if your setting the suspension for the wheelies it'll handle like a dog in the corners lol! Itll just tuck under when you have the front soft lol! Itll flip over like deans was today, not by accident either he can do it on que lol! Watch! this! watch! this! and FLIP! It was over and straight to its wheels, parked lol! Perfect! Pmsl! But the Sc isn't renound for it cornering is it? If I had the sc id have the rear squatted on the rear and the front end up in the air, thats how my ovel race car was set up, its nose would come up like a speed boat anyway but its a good suspension setting for getting tucked in for the corners with the ar5e hanging out and get it ready for getting out the corner, Its all set up ready as I see it but im sure people well differ, but i bet I whip there ar5e from one side of were we are and back again, Only if it ant in a straight line though lol! I can put corners in a straight and some more, I was once described as a stabbed rat! Lol! But I love my baja atm mainly the suspension now it sorted, need some front suspension arms but there going to have to do for bashing, if it was racing then that would be different wun it! It would be done yesterday lol! You'll get it gaz, just be careful on them suspension setting if ya turn in fast it'll flip over im sure with the front being soft lol!

Out of interest really coz I think the 990 I got off almighty15 was folty, and im not sure were he got it from!
Garry45
Steve As soon as u said about slacking off the springs I had visions of how my truck handled before I set them up properly with it rolling over at the sight of a slight turn lol so gonna keep it as is mate but will try it out soon just to see if I can get more front air. Got my settings written down so can go back to them but I will slacken the fronts off next time out as the rears are fairly stiff but it handles very very well[emoji106]

Out of interest really coz I think the 990 I got off almighty15 was folty, and im not sure were he got it from! Sorry Steve just seen this and I got mine from MMR model tech and as I said to dean I don't think it was ever right but didn't no any better!!! Wasn't really till I had it in the outlaw and I just couldn't dial that low end bog out no matter how lean I went which wasn't good so I just put up with it plus thought that clone side pipe was a factor to but it isn't with that 813 but there is a very slight delay before the mid/high end kicks in but that's the nature of the pipe not carb. I gun the throttle from standstill and it will spin and spin and then the mid/high kicks in and all hell is let loose lol but compared to the 990 is so far apart it's laughable
Garry45
Sorry for the lack of updates as to be honest ive not done to much apart from go out and enjoy my bashing/speed runs. Fitted a TTO tach and ive had it over the 19,999rpm on every run so ive geared down to 18/56 but yet to try it out due to the bloody poxy rain. oh steering servo is knackered and just about works enough to do some runs so will replace when it stops working completely bit its just over a year old and its the original KM one as well as the throttle/brake servo so will just replace it with another KM SS as u can't knock that. Managed to pick up a CPI BB pipe for a song and I fitted it today which was a right PITA as had to remove the shock tower brace and cage and lower bumper mount. I fitted the header of the pipe fine and as I was undoing the shock tower brace BANG and I jumped out of my skin lol. Thought WTF was that and on close inspection one of the exhaust studs snapped. As u can see there was about 2-3mm left sticking out and lucky for me I didnt put to much red locktight on it and just managed to get some mole grips and eeked it out and it was a squeaky bum time lol. Had some spare studs so fitted them and fired it up.https://youtu.be/-mlU7OXsqoghttps://youtu.be/-SV1d5qrJEI Going to change back to 17/55 gearing to see what rpm that cpi bb tops out at.. Doubt it will rev as well as the clone vrc but I dont expect it to as ive done plenty of reading and was torn between the cpi bb or the jetpro 5t pipe. Im looking forward to getting more low end but will try both gearings and make my mind up so watch this space [emoji41] [emoji106] Edited September 4, 2015 by Garry45
Oh How Original
Red threadlock won't do anything Garry, even high temp stuff, your best bet is just some sprung washers if they back out, or nuts on the back It's sounding nice as well!
Garry45
Cheers Dan The thread lock did help but it wasnt all that and now I no why lol. Will get some more spring washers but so far so good but will take a spanner with me when I go out next and cant wait to test it out and the weather here in Essex has been atrocious so fingers crossed [emoji106]
Garry45
Went out sunday to test my cpi pipe and 18/56 gearing and to say im happy with both is an understatement. The pipe sounds awesome and has a much nicer note than my clone vrc side pipe which was ear spitting. 1st few runs were around the 18700rpm mark and tweaked the carb a few times and finally settled on 19200. Had a idle issue which turned out to be an air leak on the carb side (thanks dean for the help) So got to have a look at that but I will be back out again this week for round

flatout!
hi gaz hows things? Have you got this motor in and sorted? Not been on here for a while, so no nowt, lol! Still all the same here at my end, still running the obr reed, its running well now all my issues are sorted, looking at building some custom shocks up, these cheap roven 8mm shafts are ok but knowones selling replacement parts for them so no good to me, going back to stock sized shock shafts 6mm and if I can afford it it'll be krakens titanium ones, with hpi bottoms and use my shock body's save a bit of coin for rezzies, I like the bleed caps, they sell bleed caps team fast eddys but £32 a pair lol! ? but making do arm with building and rebuilding these for now lol! What's happening with yours then?
scatteh316
Any chance of a picture of inside the head? I've seen the porting on pretty much every engine builder except these so curious as to how it compares to others.
